Couple Questions

Can you give me advice on setting up a indoor grow room. I'm thinking about 10 plants. Will a 1200w king led fan be enough light? Or should i even use a led light? Also I see a lot about using co2 but I don't think thats a option for me. Is co2 neccasey in a closed space grow room? And for ventilation do I need to rig up any ducting to vent to a outside source or are a couple fans and maybe opening the door once a while good enough ventilation. Also my aunt has a bunch of rain water saved for her tomatoes, would rain water be better for watering than tap water because I know they put some harsh chemicals in the tap water where I live. Thanks to anyone who helps me.

Also if anyone could put some links to a decent light that will cover about 10 plants for under 500 dollars.

http://www.growweedeasy.com/ here's one. Go to Barnes and Noble and pick up a grow guide. You will at least be able to get the basics. Its not so much how many plants, but what kind of square footage you are trying to cover. And yeah you need to vent....the plants need certain temps and humidity. Co2 is not essential especially 1st grow. Read read read read read and then read and read

One light for ten plants is a stretch, but as in most aspects of growing thats a statment that needs clarification. You can grow your plants small and flower them in three gallon pots under a 1k hps fixture. But most people like to grow the plants a little larger and flower in at least five gallon containers if theyre not running a sog.
A 1k watt hps can cover an area 5x5 but the hood is important when trying to dial in the coverage area. Most, if not all of the leds cant do that. If you want to run 10 plants under a single 1k hps you may want to look into a light mover. A 1k fixture runs 6 amps. Check how many availible amps you have going to the room on the breaker panel. You can only use 75% of what's available safely. You can run extention cords from other rooms or circuits through the attic and drop them in if you have to.

Co2 is necessary for a sealed room but if you want to run co2 its best to get a monitor and a control unit and burner. Thats expensive. Being new to growing i would recommend just using an air exchange fan which would just vent the co2 out of the room. And if you run sealed room, air conditioning becomes a problem more than with fresh air coming in. With fresh air intake you can run your lights at night and be pulling air in from outside where its cooler at night so its like free ac for the room. Running lights during the day time can be a problem if the outside air temps are in the 90s or higher. You will need to run ducting if you are running a carbon filter with air cooled lights.

Rain water is fine to use on the plants if the ph is good on it.

The biggest problem most people have when they dive into growing is keeping the room at the right temps and humidity. Having the right ac and dehus installed is crucial to healthy plants. Its often overlooked because its very expensive but it will make or break a grow. Cold plants dont grow, and hot plants stretch and nodes space out all over usually. Plants with too much humidity mold or get powdery mildew and those things wreck harvests. Weed is easy to grow, it grows like a weed. Keeping the room in check is not easy but if you can your golden.

The room I'm in has its own thermostat so Temp controll shouldn't be a problem. I just need to figure out a way to rig up a vent setup

Do I have to vent directly outdoors or would venting to an ajsent room work just fine?
Most people go outside with it. If you vent inside youll have humidity and heat pumped int whatever room you choose. This can cause mold after about a year usually. You can do it but outside is ideal. You just want to make sure you have a fresh air from outside.

Man that isn't cut in stone. I don't vent out and I intake from ac vent inside. I don't have mold after 15 years.

I vent into my attic towards back of house and bring fresh air from front of house (eaves) with 4" dryer vent hoses from HD, room where grow closet is in has A/C diffuser in it, just cover up the return vents if any. Closet is not air tight and diffuser is right next to closet. I did my own air balancing so I maximized pressure into that room, my extractor fan is in attic where I don't hear it, you can close closet door and be in the same room and not hear shit.

Ok well maybe you dont but on two occasions ive had mold start showing up. Once after a year and once after only six months. I gave the advice because it happens often and it can turn into a major problem if it happens. Just like any grow advice there is no one correct answer to his problem, its whats going to work for his setup the best. If he, or you only run one 400w hps and the tents small then venting to inside wouldnt be so bad. If hes running 3000w and has 45 square feet of canopy in flower, well hes probably going to have an issue.
Taking air from outside is the same, its up to the user. If the sound of air howling is going to alert the neighbors and hes not a card holder he may want to take inside air. Or if hes somewhere that its really hot all the time he may want to take from somewhere in the house.
I just gave him what most people do and the safest way in my opinion.

So the room beside my groom room is basically a utility room, it has a window should I vent through that? Where I live (canada) it's get down to -30°C. Wouldn't that air be too cold and the heater in my groom room would be running constantly trying to keep the temp up. I feel like venting to another room would work best for me. Maybe I'll just put a dehumidifier in there to prevent moisture build up.
