So what do you guys use to cover over the ladies when there in flower to keep moisture out? I have a.cage that's a little bigger then 10x10 and I wanted to cover the top but I got painters plastic and that shut is a pain in my dick blowing all over when trying to secure it what are your guys and gals methods.

He wrote carport (good for keeping pests away too), not carpet. Check the links in his sig

Good luck :peace:

Lol auto correct I know he's talking about carpot. But like I said why would I get a carpot when I have a chain link cage and a gazebo in the center to bring it up an extra 3 feet but I need something to cover.or.an easy way to cover to keep moisture out.

6mil plastic from Home Depot works short term, but it gets cooked quickly in the sun and only lasts a few months. or you can order a clear reinforced tarp for about the same price & it will last years...good luck
Awesome that's what I was looking for where do I get this tarp from? Home Depp aswell?

Doublejj has some great ideas. I have a cage around mine as well and it gets extremley windy here, especially during storms. A tarp would be ideal, but wind could take it off here, as diablo said, i've been having that issue here as well.. crazy wind storms. I've got 10x10 2x4 structures built with layers of burlap wrapped around them. Most of the time it works and limits the amount of rain coming through + prevents hail, but sometimes the crazy wind makes those fly in the wind. Almost flew over the fence once!

I was thinking of like a pulley system to easily pull it over + keep it attached.
Best of luck bro.

Really how windy is it there? And I had a hard time last year cut this painters plastic Is thin and easy to tear.
I don't know about diablos area specifically, but we get gust of up to 70 MPH. On average just 10-20 MPH, but those wind storms can be gnarly... Snapped some well developed branches on some of my plants :( So sad..

Diablo, how do you deal with the crazy wind gusts here?

Ya I don't think my winds are that bad but there pretty windy tho but what you use for cover
I've been tying down as Diablo said and staked one up, most have too many tops to stake up I think? I've got a cage around mine also and if I feel a wind storm coming i've been hog tying plywood to the cage to give protection lol.

But yea, probably just take Diablos suggestion or use shade cloth walls/plastic top or something like others suggested. Best of luck.

Alot of plant stakes and tying down my friend...all the wind makes for strong plants.
That's the truth!!! One of mine has a stalk like a tree trunk. Err well, not quite there yet, but getting there lol she has no problem with the wind at all. My purple k's have long internodes & look like they are dancing in the wind. Fun to watch, but I always kind of worry about them.

I appreciate the advice Diablo.

You said that its pretty windy there so if your coving to keep moisture off I wouldnt waste my time. Wind will dry those buds out naturally. If you don't have enough air flow then you will have mould issues. I live in a windy area and the only time I had mould issues was when I tried to grow in an area with very little wind. I use trellis netting with stakes on all sides and let the plant grow thew it and i set up the nets right about this time of year. This helps the plant in the wind and doesnt create mould when it gets wet. Hope this helps. Remember when you cover your plants you create problems that you wouldnt have with natural air flow for example PM happens easier
