Cow manure

My family has had cows for 40 yrs. In the barn they have pooped there for various reasons. So I dug in it and the top layers are real dark brown but the deeper I go it turns blacker. Is the manure ready to use in my plants or do I need to mix it. I would like to use it in containers for indoor. Do I fill the whole containers up with it or just some with potting soil. I want to go as organic as possible :peace::?::leaf:

Depends generally you want to compost shit for a few months I. It the blacker stuff would be great. Rabbit is fine to use fresh out of the animal. Also id recommend using earth worm castings, rice hulls for aeration and ammendments

I use amended cow manure only. As long as it is aged for at least 6 months to 1 yr it is ready. You will not have to add anything for drainage because the hay in it will make it drain better then any soil!
The other rule of thumb is to make sure it doesn't smell like shit still.
Good luck
