CPU Fans For Ventilation

I am wondering if it is possible to use fans designed to cool a computer to ventilate a contained grow box? There will be only 1-2 plants, so I only need minimal fan power. My biggest problem is how do I make a fan designed to plug into a cpu work on a/c power? Any and all replies/suggestions/criticisms are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for the quick reply White Widow. I assumed they would work, but I just wanted to double check. Also, do you have any idea how to make them run on a normal a/c outlet? Evey fan I've seen is designed to plug into some type of computer slot and not a normal outlet. I assume there is some way to make them do it (ie. some type of converter) but I'm a bit of an electrical neophyte so if you have any tips to save time it would be great. Thanks again.

You need to get a 12volt power transformer. You can find them at radio shack. You will need to take the connector off and just hook the 2 wires to the transformer. Dont try to hook them straight to the wall outlet. lol. If you do let us know what happens. lol.

If you have an old computer lying around just rob the power supply from it. Most of the powers supplies have connectors for the fans anyway. This might help out a bit.

radio shack also makes a/c to d/c plugs with adjustable voltage. this means that you can vary the speeds of the fan depending on your need for exhaust power. all my exhaust fans are wired through potentiometers (modified dimmer switches) for a variable flow rate
