crackling when burning

Well I did a search and it seems a lot of people have experienced this but I never came across an explenation.. When burning, the weed turns into a sparkler amd crackles everywhere.

This is not from seeds popping or anything, I've heard that its from not flushing but I've never had outdoor bud crackle so what mineral would be the one sparking? Also its not from the lighter filament either just so I don't get these responses..

Hmm so the jury is out on this one? Its not spider mites, I could maybe see is it as a chem but I've never flushed, I suppose it could be one of those little nutes building up but I just don't see it.

You say spider mites, could it have been sprayed with neem or other pesticide and that be it?

nitrogen is the usual culprit in posts, idea is nitrogen may have the form of nitrates
and nitrates is what gives gunpowder its zing
which does make sense, but i don't know of any good tests that have shown a definitive answer

I thought about this too and since nitrogen is the most noticably removed when flushed that was my first idea.. So I took some of my lower most leaves (I know not the same) but they were good and dark, well I let em dry and crumbled and burned slow and smelled good but no spark. But my grows haven't sparked I just bought a bit while awaiting.. It could be different forms of the nute like the ammonium nitrates

this is one of those funny little topics, but not so little when its a problem that you've got
most of us aren't fond of crackling weed which acts like a prairie fire
it's quite possible it may be unrelated to nutes directly, there's a lot of complicated chemistry going on in there
one possibility is it's some terpene in the resin
if you've ever done the trick with orange peel and a match, it puts on a small light show
those essential oils flame very nicely
