Crazy idea that includes 1000 watt outdoor

Costco sells Cree LED bulbs super cheap like less than $1 a piece and they screw into any regular light socket. 11w would be sufficient for LED only, I use 7w bulbs. It would be 180 watts over 10x20
And just to break up the dark period,
Thinking turn it on 11pm and turn it off at 1pm

11pm to 1 am would work.

A sturdy, but simple roof of some type is where I'd begin. You could use clear poly or even pieces of scrap wood, as long as the rain water runs off, and your roof doesn't blow away your plants and your light won't care.

Greenhouses are cheap too. Amazon is your friend.

The last two seasons I have used a 1000W hps in a 12' X 16' greenhouse to stop early flowering. Works great. In a second identical greenhouse I use two 150 watt hps and it works there as well. Outdoors I have used compact cfl as describe, I put them on a stake a few feet away from the plant and cover with a gallon ziplock to keep rain out.
