Oh, I have also wanted to ask you what you think of DWC compared to soil? I am pretty sure your last grow was soil. Do you think DWC is harder than soil, or more work overall? I am building up so I can grow a tomato plant in DWC this winter as a test to see how I do. I just realized my water was less than ph of 4 from the tap. Bought a filter and now the ph is around 6.5, but with nutes it is 4 again. So I have bought all the ph test and UP's and DOWN's, so now all I need is a good hydro nute. I haven't decided yet on that.

i started off with half strength. used measuring spoons.

yo gumball

dwc is alot more work lol soil is what i want to go back to. although growth might be a tad slower i like it more and it is more forgiving.

Jpapi, it means if the nutes say one teaspoon per gallon, use half a teaspoon. So whatever the instructions state do half of that. You can also start at quarter strength if you prefer.

Thanks CT! I was hoping you'd say it wasn't much more work. I still may try my tomato plant guinea pig, no big loss there. What would you say is most time consuming?

I hear you on soil being more forgiving. Hydro just seems like it would be more structured because you know you have to give you plants everything. Soil can be iffy cause you aren't always sure how much nutes it needs or don't need.

i thin kthe most time consuming is having to dothe ph levels and get it in htat range of 5.5-6.0 sometimes i acccidentally put a lil much and en dup having to do the frops up and down and back and forth til i get it right. plus re filling the res every week washing it out and what not.

when i grew with soil i used forx farms potting mix. nad so much good stuff in it i didnt even need veg nutes and barely any bloom nutes.

later bud
