I mean. . ..

What if someone took some cuts or seeds, grew them in, say, Pitcairn or Easter Islands, for a couple thousand yrs & just let those fuckers "do their thing" naturally?

Beyond landrace or heirloom. ... Over the course of millenia, being "isolated" and relying on itself to sustain the conditions and adapt. ... Maybe we could create Nice-eralis?? lol i dunno.

Could we do it??? A whole new subspecies??

If you use seeds I think you’ll have to bring your own paper towels to germinate them as they aren’t available on the island.

What you are talking about is evolution.

Climate change will have destroyed all vegetation by then I would assume.

Evolution can take hundreds if not thousands of years. Unfortunately climate change is accelerating at a much faster pace than evolution can keep up with.

Theoretically no. You wouldn't get enough genetic drift.

Landrace or Heirloom variety sure.

But new subspecies all together would require a lot more space, a lot more time, more varietals and a whole lot of luck.

If you want to know how fast climate can change watch "Joe Rogan 606" on YouTube. That can scare the whing-dinny you of you.

You really got me thinking about this lol.
Next to impossible in reality I think.

Be a tough task to isolate a specific group of plants (or many groups of plants), to essentially evolve and have unique, different defining characteristics than any current cannabis / hemp species, in order to classify it as it's own.

Not only would it require space, time, plant variety and luck, but varying environments as well. If we consider evolution and specific unique traits in a species as a product of it's own survival.
Survival of the fittest.

Near impossible to recreate in my own opinion.
Cheers for the giving me the contemplation lol.

Fun thread.

But the REAL question is... WHAT were you smoking when you came up with this? I want some too :eyesmoke:

Hmmmm … how about Frankenstein ( ing ) a Hindu Kush x Nepalese and just Johnny Appleseed the shit on a cross country ride.

Dress up like a Sparkling Garden Gnome and prance around green spaces , road side stops , open highways , forest , Titty bars.
Get people laughing as you skip like tinkerbell as you dig in your loincloth and spread your seed ….. maybe even crop dust them with some magical sharts !

Look don’t get all wound up …. I’m trying to help yo ass.

The right idea, but like, in a more isolated place like a rarely or never-visited island.
