I am interested in this strain, so I am subscribing. Definitely water less, looking good otherwise.

so today i noticed my one seedling (i thought was suffering from light bleaching) is getting a little worse. The first set of leaves are yellowing more and have a couple of brown blotches on the edges of the leaf. hmmm.. time to goggle. as far as watering I've been watering about every 36 hours and haven't given any nutes yet into the grow. Ill post pics once the room is open. I don't know if i posted this in the beginning they are on a 24/0 schedule. The one that is having the problems has been spending most of its time under a 30 watt cool white CFL. dunno if its bleaching or what .. gonna look it up. If anyone wants to lend a hand feel free.

here's some pics of whats going on today. Looks like two of the seedlings first set of leaves is yellowing. Over watering perhaps??? in my previous thread i stated how often i was watering, so i transplanted them today to 7x7 inch pots.. I know it's early but roots were coming out the bottom. used balanced the water and used 1/4 teaspoon per gal of superthrive to help with any shock. I'm not trying to move too fast with these but i've already gotten advice that they are in too small of a container. Let me know if it's overwatering causing these leaves to droop or is it the low humidity. When i transplanted the soil was VERY DRY. lets hope i can get this under control.

How often are you watering? I said don't over water cuz thats a nood thing to do. I still have to watch it when there that small. next time your ready to water stick your finger in the soil about 2" deep. If it still feels moist at all, wait to water. The roots need to dry out beteewn waterings.

I know it's a total noob move to overwater your seedlings but the soil was bone dry. even after testing with a moisture meter and when transplanting the soil was BONE dry. As far as the transplanting itself. I TOO thought it was too early. 8 ounce styrofoam cups are what i always started out with and always had no problem keeping them there for about 2-3 weeks. I'm going on my second. Well i guess we'll see if they bounce back. Plus it'll be more manageable for me not to over water now that they're in bigger containers. at least know i know i can go a few days without even worrying about watering them, where as in the cups it just seemed like the little bit of soil they were in was drying VERY fast. REMEMBER i was saying the humidity is only staying at about 20 percent. It seems since i switched to the bigger pots and used the humidifier on a lower setting it's raised to about 40-50 percent now. Of course I'm sure this has to do with the total moisture in the pots and air. but at least i squashed the problem with the humidity. Now lets HOPE that the girls are ok.:joint:

I've been watering every 24 to 36 hours since the soil was so dry and crusty. Now i'll just go by my moisture meter to judge.

No way should you have to water that often. If you do your not giving them enough when you do water. water them slow and fully. if you use a 1 gal pot it should take about a half gal of water to water them. just a rule of thumb. Do you have drain holes in your pots? I use small solo cups and water every 3-4 days at that size of plant. here is my clones in cups.

Dude you're totally right ..i've narrowed everything down .. and obviously its over watering. the humidity in the room was so low it was probably drying out the soil and making me think the plants needed more watering, but im telling ya. the soil was so dry and airy.. . I just hope they bounce back ok without those ugly fucking lettuce looking leaves from moisture stress..and i hope i didnt stress the too much with the transplant. IF I KILL EM. looks like Sweet Seeds Creamy Caramel will be the next grow journal.

from the look of the thermometer in the pic.. your temps are kind high too
Yes they are high. as i was saying earlier its hard to keep the heat down if the tent is shut and humidifier is running. so i blast the fan and/or open the doors.

wow I missed that. Does it say 100?
Its not running that high. it may look like it in the pics but everytime i check the canopy (lay my thermometer on top of the pots) it definitely reads to almost 86 or so. NOT GOOD. i know. Its hard to keep the temps down without a proper exhaust system. This is a ghetto grow at the moment. Well not quite but you see where i'm at.

ABSOLUTELY. I gave some info as to my set up in my last post but i will give updates on watering more often. I figured most RIUers kinda look past the whole watering or ph levels or day to day activity sometimes.
2x4x5 tent

FF liquid trio nutes (Big Bloom, Tiger Bloom, Grow Big), Grandma's Unsulfured molasses.

FF Happy frog soil (straight. will add perlite hopefully in next transplant, or go with OF HF mix)

started them in 8 oz. styro cups.
Transplanted to 7x7 inch square pots (plan on doing one more transplant to a finishing pot not sure what size for 4 plants in my space yet.)

right now three 7x7 pots and styro cup are on the same level under 6 27 wt daylight CFLs and one 30 wt cool white and one 42wt soft white, connected from one cord and Y splitters to make like a spider formation over it (refer to the pics a few pages back)

I have a 6 inch oscillating fan blowing on the plants at canopy level at all times.
Need to get a proper exhaust sytem
and am watering with Poland Spring no nutes except for Superthrive so far for transplanting.
ALSO.. have a large humidifier in the area since it's become so dry.
a shitty home depot analog ph/light/moisture meter.
a shitty plastic home depot thermo/hydrometer

On hand i also have schultz 10-15-10, Vigora 10-10-10, Ph down, and a Ph Aquarium test kit.

MY PLANS
Alot of LST, and have been considering Scrog. but may be too advanced for me at the moment. Also hoping to Veg with cfls until i can afford a 400 cooltube.

I can't give you much input on the stuff your using. Does the ff soil have perlite in it? At this point i'm thinking just let them dry out some.

So after going through Jorge's Bible last night i recognized something he says about lighting during the seedling stage. I KNOW EVERYONE ISN'T A FAN OF JORGE BUT. he say's in his book that seedlings require less intense light. and if workiing with cfls, to keep them 12 to 18 inches away from the plants. Last night after reading this i raised my lights (which were sitting about and inch to 2 inches away from the top) to about a foot. Well. I'll post pics in a bit to show you what they look like but my leaves perked up. they don't look as curled under and stressed from moisture. I may have been overwatering, but i think i was giving these girls way too much light. Figure about 200 and some odd watts of cfl and inches away from the tops blasting light on top of em was the reason IMO they looked all huddled up as if they were scared. Sometimes I think i just have to refer back to the basics (which i forget about due to RIU) and go back to the books that got me here. pics will be up soon to show their improvement in the last 16 hrs or so.

Yeah I usually keep the light much higher in veg, hell my clones don't go under the light at all, just kind of near it.
