So should we go to war with Russia over Ukraine?
Over 'HALF' Ukraine....
Half of Ukrainians WANT Russian ties
the other half want the same opportunities that Poland and the Baltics have found within the EU.

This will not happen.
The EU will break up if any more less developed nations are allowed entry in the next 15 years.
And if TURKEY is EVER allowed to enter
It's not even EUROPEAN!!!!

Today, in the 21st century a financial war will be the most damaging action against the Russian aggression They, the EU and US, are going to choke the shit of them economically. End game.
Won't happen, unless watching millions of Europeans freezing to death is acceptable.

Trying to Choke Russia would be poking at China with a sharp stick too, you don't want to wake up Mischa and Panda on the grumpy side.

China and Russia already bypass the dollar entirely when it comes to trade between them. As do many countries, Australia included.

Eventually it will come down to who has the most stable money.

1) has not happened
We haven't responded with action
2) will not happen
We haven't responded and most likely won't
3) wake up
The truth is that we did not lift a finger in the 1940's and will not back our words of support again.

You don't know anything about this do you? I remember we had a WW in the 40s.

And you have no idea what WE have done or not, do you? And you really don't know what we may do, from now, public or private, do you?

In fact you have no idea when we give our word or what that word may mean, or what that word is in the form of, do you?

In fact, you are a Party rag-doll that is only concerned with smearing this President. In fact, not a single shot has been fired there, that we can take official notice of. Nothing has happened since Crimea is an Antonymous region of Russian. No Rules have been broken yet, that's the point. Everyone but you knows this apprearently.

So, what kind of blood thirsty, public action, to embarrass this President are you referring to?

What do you want to be done and why do anything for gwad's sake?
i think someone may have said this before..but research shows that those who read right wing propaganda and watch FOX exclusively is equivalent to no news at all..basically it's a bunch of hate mongering people with the same thought process listening to each other..which bring to question FB's Paper which is microadvertising your news based upon "preferences"..jeaasuus chrissssssst..that's actually kinda scary..think about it..selecting what it thinks you want however, what IT APPROVES OF..

The western media is portraying the Ukrainian situation as one where 99% of the population are being oppressed by a small minority of Russians.
NOT SO!
My wife is an ethnic Russian Crimean Ukrainian and about half the country want to maintain their closest ties to Moscow.

The North and West are Ukrainian Nationalists with less love towards Moscow and a dream of joining the EU
the South and East are mostly ethnic Russian Ukrainians who don't want to split from their historic links o Russia.

Crimea (Autonomous Republic of) was NEVER part of Ukraine.
In the mid-50's (after about 40 years of the USSR) it was decided to place Crimea under the control of Kiev,
rather than Moscow - has had been usual since Catherine the Great occupied the peninsula from the indigenous Tartars
then populated the area with super patriotic Russian colonists.

The connection to Russia is still a source of great pride.
One rarely hears the Ukrainian language spoken on the streets of Crimea.
The vast majority of the locals class Russian as their mother tongue.

THIS CONFLICT HAS TWO SIDES WHO EACH BELIEVE THEY HAVE RIGHT ON THEIR SIDE.
If you believe that big, bad Vlad is oppressing an entire nation with no desire to remain connected to Russia....
You're being fooled by the pro-Western bias of the media.
Some people dont know how to look deeply at an issue.
Crimea is the #1 spot for Russian officers to retire at
2/3rds are ethnic Russians the other 1/3rd are tartars
Look at all the idiots that think all Muslims are the same faith

Yes, we all know MSNBC never ignores valid news, nor do they ever alter 911 tapes or video of their opposition in order to give a false impression. Nope, never happens.

Oh, you know I don't believe anything, but I take all this you say as very real.

But, as I understand it, the issue was voted on and passed in their govt and then the Preident's arm was give a Bear twist. And that made him act illegally. So, he got the riots and the govt changed, so he bugged out.

That just the back of the Cliff Notes as they say. Do you see it otherwise? I am not taking sides. I say we have no duties, yet. But, if we get some they will be of the Space Bomb kind.

There is nothing before that. We won't send anything into the Black Sea, even. That is a very good way to lose a Carrier Battle Group.

And that is not excusable.

Uh ooooh. I think we are looking at an East - West Partition.

Russian troops have surrounded at least two military bases in Crimea and approached others seeking to gain access or get hold or their weapons.

Vladimir Putin has declared war on Ukraine, the acting prime minister in Kiev, Arseniy Yatseniuk, has said, as Ukraine called up its military reserves in readiness to fight.

The rule of Ukraine’s new leaders will “end with a new revolution” amid more bloodshed, Russia’s Prime Minister Dimitry Medvedev has predicted. In a Facebook post, he accused the new government in Kiev of “seizing power”

A senior US official has said that Russian forces “now have complete operational control of the Crimean Peninsula.” The same official also estimated that 6,000 Russian forces “with considerable materiel” were in the region and were flying in reinforcements.
