Well im too lazy to seperate these up and i dont wanna fill the board up like that... ASK ME SPECIFICALLY ABOUT A STRAIN IF U HAVE A Q.
My spring/summer harvest included 7 strains. Dinafem: Critical +, OG Kush. Barney's farm: Crimea Blue, Vanilla Kush. Nirvana: White Castle, NYPD, Blackberry. I had two rooms for flower, one had a 600W HPS with a Hortilux super hps. The other room has about 450 watts of CFL, a mix of 2700K, 5000K and 6500K bulbs.
HPS ROOM : White Castle, NYPD, Blackberry, Crimea Blue.
CFL ROOM : Critical +, Vanilla Kush, OG Kush.
all grown in a mix of happy frog and ocean forest with extra perlite. minimal ferts, epsom salts, blackstrap organic molasses.
Out of all of the strains it is hard to pick a favorite. Me personally i think i was the most impressed with the Critical +. It was a late start with the critical so it didnt get to veg as long as the others, especially for being under the CFL. It made up for it, had just as much bud as the others which were almost 3 weeks older in veg. All of the strains were good id say, EXCEPT for the Vanilla Kush. I must have just got a bad pheno, it sucks... grew it out all the same, it even smelled good, but it produced a horrible final product. very harsh, very little flavor, hard to trim... i was NOT impressed with the vanilla kush.
Ill try to give a short bit of info on each strain:
Critical +: skunky strain, fruity skunky sweet smell. this one stinks hardcore btw. it was easy to grow and sends out a ton of extra branches all over making it a great yielder. Looks sativa while in veg, but flowers much more like an indica. Super high flower to leaf ratio, and LOTS of resin. this stuff looked amazing aferwards too. 10/10 on bag appeal! the high is mixed, slightly more indica. id say its 9.5/10 on potency, but i luv skunk genes.
OG Kush: Fuel and skunk. thats the smells and flavors you get from this stuff. Dinafem made a nice OG, its sativa dominant and grows kinda like a smaller version of a skywalker OG in my opinion. NO SECONDARY BRANCHING!! its hard to make this one yield good. I was able to force 4 main colas and they produced a ton of big popcorn nugs all the way down their stems. VERY DENSE!! like i said tho, you have to put some time into this one, it took me a few weeks longer to veg this one, it didnt respond to the topping very well at first. It wants to grow a single head on a single stem, so u have to coax it out of that if u want a good yield. The potency is VERY good, id give it a full 10/10. some folks could hardly smoke it! leaves a big head feeling and a face buzz. Nice strain
Crimea Blue: This one looked a bit more sativa than i expected. It responded great to topping, i had the most tops on this one. It produces buds that have a typical hash plant look, the blueberry genes do that too even. They look almost foxtailed, but its because the calyx tries to be as wide as possible so it can have the biggest surface for resin crystals to grow in the light. It produced a very light green bud, with dark red hairs. The smell is EXTREMELY similar to Blue Cheese. i was shocked by that, BUT the taste is much more hashy. It certainly took after the ukranian hashplant side on the taste. it really tastes like import hash, the metallic-spicy kind. The high is awesome, potency is 9.5/10. it can be a bit harsh, but just about everyone liked this one
White Castle: Well i had a freak come out here. It was heavily indica and had super thick stems. It smelled strange, almost like cat piss. the cat piss smells came out more and more as it flowered until it was all u can smell. The taste is more herbal, weed-like id say. this one yielded the most by a long shot... at least 3.5 oz. monster colas. This one would have been the keeper for a commercial grower. the potency was rockin...10/10. puts most people to sleep! in small amounts its not as couchlock tho... the bag appeal is weird tho... some of the buds turned a kind of golden yellow color and looked as tho they had past their prime. even tho they werent it made this stuff look a little less good. it was hard to trim too!
NYPD: this one is a unique strain... it grows very much like a hybrid should. It ends up having a citrus sour-musky smell. the taste is very similar with a skunky finish. the potency is great 9.5/10. bag appeal is great too 9.5/10 darker red hairs on deep green buds. it is a very good yielder, nearly as good as the white castle pheno i had this time. nice internode space. easy to grow too!
Blackberry: This one was upposed to white rhino but i got a mix up from the breeder... I ended up with a indica heavy blackberry pheno. It grew fast too and flowered in just 50 days. the smell is sweet spicey just like they describe. they potency is ok about an 8/10. and the appeal is good 9/10 dark red hairs on dark green buds. the taste is very spicey like hash. it yields average i would say, it would be PERFECT for a SCROG. it likes to make big tops.
Vanilla Kush: this one vegged ok but was a dud in flower. just never really took off all that great, and the final product is not good. very grassy taste, only smells good for a few seconds when u grind it up... im for sure i got a bad phenotype... a cup winner!?!? this one wasnt !!
