LOL, and I have been tending toward fewer, larger plants.
...but I have to report that the yield of Crop #4 was a low as I expected.
The big-screen just kept me from really knowing what my babies were wanting.
The smoke is crazy strong. I have tested the Qrazy Train,
Chem 4 OG, and Blue Cheese.
The BC is delicious and smells wonderful, but its strength is
not up with the Chem and QT. They are crusty.
I just clipped the Somango from the hanging branches and
I got a quart of buds.
I got about as much from a 2 gallon SOG element back in Crop #2!
Not to worry....several things to remember:
1. Got great smoke. I and my college buds are very happy, and will be.
2. I am in learning-mode. Among other things, this means that I am
intentionally spinning all tumblers as fast as I can and still be able to
judge results. This is to say that everything is an experiment for me,
and if something works, then I am just as likely to move away from
it, considering it examined. (think of NFL pre-season...you work on the
bits that you do *not* know about yet)
3. New plants already in tent. No screen. I will be trying the bamboo
stakes method to support buds, and will control the number of tops better.
But, if you (LK) are thinking of trying SOG, then I cannot argue against that.
It rocked for me, and I will try it again.
....but a SOG really benefits from using many clones of the same plant,
and, again, this is where I am way more random....I am trying new breeds
each grow as well.
I really do look forward to when I can decide on a breed and dial in
some real yields, but I am not disheartened by a low yield.
Here is a shot of Somango:
The tent is already populated:
It has been interesting, seeing what would either mature sufficiently,
and/or show sex, as I put together the plants for this next crop.
Blue OG just looks so gross and twisted up that I set it aside for this crop.
My Kosher Kush main-line still needs a couple weeks at least...I am not
sure that I will not have it sit out this flowering round as well. (I am at
four heads at this point)
BTW: I decided to use slot #9 above to another Somango. I want to
get more of this. :0)
Take care all,
JD
