When you are crossing a male and female that have different genetics, will the seeds inherit more characteristics from the male or the female?

i would think its fifty/ fifty like in most things...you know as taught in the most basic of biology...i believe it would depend on what trait is dominant and what is recessive and less of which parent...if the mom is purple but the dad isnt and purple is recessive and the father doesnt have that recessive trait at all it would be green like the table the teach you to do with:G=Green dominant trait g=purple recessive trait

mother- g g
f........G:Gg Gg i believe it was Mendel the guy who did the
a.......G:Gg Gg thing he figured this out with pea plants

Wildfire is right and what he's refering to are the laws of Gregor Mendel. Basilcally, if you cross a male and a female, the seeds will inherit both of their genes but will only express the dominant characteristics.

Instead of trying to explain Mendel's laws I think it's best you check them out for yourself and if you have any questions, ask and we shall answer.

Here's the link (more down the page, the pics/diagrams):

Hope you understand this, and if not, we'll explain.

Do you know what characteristics are most dominant?

Size of plant, size of buds, color, smell, trichome count, etc.?

That depends on strain. For a white rhino for ex. purple color is recessive but for a purple kush it's dominant.

I'd guess this is something you find out through lots experience and crossing.
