Hey there fellow growers, i am growing a cubensis strain from wollongong in N.S.W australia, here is one of my jars, i believe there is a little too much moisture in the jars in the pics, but i dunked and rolled after haing a closer look and touch. when washing if i scratched/damaged the mycelium it would darken similar to the spots, just not as dark/black/intense......go figure? i am damaging it, so i decided to continue with the dunk as per usual, in fridge 24hrs yarda...yarda...yarda,
i have a heap of white furry growth but no pin heads as yet 3 days? i believe i have an excess of cO2 in my terrarium??

Im confused on what your asking, the black spots in the picture look like a contam...

are you keeping the cakes in the jars while fruiting them? are you dunking and rolling in a jar? im just confused on what exactly your saying sorry.
I could be to stoned right now......

I'd say its just some drowned mycelium, next time put some dry verm in the bottom of your jar to wick up moisture

Cheers ANC yeah thats what i was hoping for as when i had seen the myc turn black when rough handling running them under water i thought well maybe its not a contam

Let your nose be your guide, if it smells off let it go, ther should be no cidery smells etc.

The 12 jars I got for free where all contaminated :(

He left the cakes in the jars for way to long before giving them to me, when i went to open them I got a wicked smell of mold.

top left pic looks like some green at the edge of the foil, thats a big no-no. the black could have been bruising and if you tryed to wipe at it it can turn black ive had it happen myself. but as always when in doubt throw it out, and that green is super suspect, as well as the black if your not sure

now that i look some more i see there could be something reflecting off the glass thats green in the background but give it a good looking over, and if that black spreads in the least its not from bruising
