hi guys, anyone ever finished a cum laude?
got one 4 weeks into flower and the bitch wont stop growing. It was put into flower at around 16" and now currently stands just under 6ft tall and showing no signs of stopping. bud is starting to look whispy on it which i really dont want but i guess theres not a lot i can do about it.
stands under a 400w hps (i say under but its actually higher than the light can go.)

just wondered if this was natural for a cum laude or do i have a mutant that just wants all of the grow box to itself? lol

its a seriously crazy plant...just keeps growin and growin...id say in the last 2 weeks its put on an average of 2inches a day in height! the bulb has always sat no higher than a foot away from it, so its not stretching, its just a monster :P

nodes are well spaced, light gets to the bottom of the plant, and if it produces as well as i hope the yeild will be massive! its also had no veg nutes at all, and just 2 weeks of big bud for flower (about 4 feeds) , the soil is from a diy store, im using standard compost and some soil that has added seaweed to it! this beast really doesnt need anythin to help it along!

i did read that it goes well from 12/12 from seed......i should of taken that route haha!

I finished a Cum Laude in April. It is Positronics best sativa. (I got one as a freebie in Dec. lat year)I LST'd it because I kinda expected it to be tall.
It is awesome smoke if you take it the full ride. Mine took 13 weeks to finish flowering, but I seem to remember it stopped stretching around three weeks. It is truly a great strain, but took a lot of side lighting and attention.
It never formed those huge colas, but really hairy, pine tasting fluffy buds.
I would grow it outdoors if I ever did again. The smoke is a great sativa trippy energetic high that lasts for hours.
(or an hour for super stoners like me)
You might want to tie it down since you have a while to go yet.

sorry to say if the plant is 6ft there is no light getting to the bottom if running a 400

while i understand the distance for a 400 to the bottom of a 6ft plant will decrease the lumens massively, the light is definately getting to the bottom of the plant!!

the actual height has now stopped rising, but the side nodes are still climbing wanting to be like the main cola! if this runs the whole distance then i think its gonna be a biiig yeilder!

yes mine was an attitude freebie that ive been sitting on for a while. i had a few bad runs with freebies so i held back a while with this one! ive taken 3 clones which all rooted in under a week without cloning gel !! i think i found my permanent growing beast :)

You didn't follow the directions..... They said to put it into flower as soon as it sprouts.
I agree a 400watt light and a 6' plant aren't a good match. You should be able to tie or lay the plant horizontal.

I grew out this same freebie and I gotta say it's on my list of favorite sativas. I followed the instructions (12/12 from seed) and got about a 3 1/2' plant in a 2 gal bucket. It was a soil grow under 1000w HPS.

It will continue to foxtail on you if you get a pheno similar to mine. I actually harvested around the 80 day (from seed) mark as Positronics suggested even though she was still goin. It's those haze genetics man, she will stretch for days lol.

It does seem to be a fairly airy strain. Even Positronics pics show this. So the actual dried weight will be less than it looks like it will be.

By the way, I have never, ever, ever had a more munchie inducing strain than this. It would make SUPERB medicine for appetite increasing. And this goes for EVERYONE who smoked it. You could literally spend the evening at Golden Corral, go home and smoke a bowl of this and I promise you will be raiding the fridge. I actually gained 10 pounds during the several weeks I was smoking this, no bullshit.

In any case, I hope you don't outgrow your space friend! One thing for certain tho, you will enjoy the smoke.

ps....I emailed them a compliment about this strain and they told me if you like this strain, you should try their Claustrum. I will be doing exactly that, because I liked this so much.

An additional thought...

Unless you live in a tropical climate, I don't think this would finish outside. For example, here in a mid Atlantic state, I can guarantee it wouldn't finish outdoors before the cold sets in. It was still growing at 12/12 when I harvested and probably needed a 10/14 cycle to really finish.

*edit
Genetics are (Queen Mother x Tijuana) x Original Haze. So 50% Haze genetics along with other tropical sativas....So yeah, you better be living pretty far south to grow her outdoors :)
