cup or no cup?

after i germinate my seeds and plant them, i was wondering if i should put a clear plastic cup over the cup of soil for humidity. please get back to me about this soon!

Your could but it could get TOO HOT or TOO HUMID.
If you do put one over make sure it has some vent holes.

I don't see a reason to and haven't but maybe someone has a better answer.

i wouldnt bother, itd become too humid and might get moldy.

I always make some type of humidity dome while waiting for my seedlings to break through the soil. Normally I just take some clear saran (plastic) wrap and poke a few holes in it. A clear cup should work fine also. Just keep some ventilation holes and a close eye on it. Dont be overly worried about ventilation or you will defeat the purpose and make so many holes there will be no xtra humidity.

I have never bothered to cover my sprouts unless they were out doors (bug threat). They really do not need to be soaked down. I just do it the way I was shown years ago and it has always worked out fine.

It won't hurt to cover but take off cover once it has sprouted. Also don't use clear plastic cups the roots don't like light. black it out with duct-tape.
