ok the glorious time has come harvested dryed and curing in jars for about a week and I'm just wondering how long do I need to continue opening and stirring before I can seal it up for good and put it away. the taste is wonderful the smoke is fairly smooth and it hasn't even cured so I'm super pleased with my harvest but I want to make the most out of cu1411665269988.jpg ring and I would like to seal up the excess and lock it away but I don't want to come back to mold. the bud feels dry to the touch every time I open the jars and it smells good so I'm just not sure how long to keep opening before I can keep them closed.

It seems you're on track..just open it once or twice a day and rotate. If you are worried about the bigger buds. Should be good by now though

Lock it away and open every now and again say couple of time a week just for piece of mind and obviously that beautiful smell mines haven't changed much after the I initial first 2 weeks but as far as mould goes I couldn't tell u simply because I've never had it must have done something right because trust me when I say the pungent smell of my b cheese knocks me out every time.......but if I had to admit and I no it's a bit of a contradiction to wot I've just said ......it does smell better every time I open them...

Curing takes at least 2 weeks, but is best to cure 1-2 months +. the first 2 weeks of curing is important to prevent mold by opening the jars or laying out product (out of jars) for 1 hr, when burbbing do it evryday 2x's/day for 15minutes. When product starts to feel "spongy" it almonst done. After the first 2 weeks only open 1x a day for 2 weeks - can seal then if want to

I've found that a month or more of cure once I quit burping will really bring out a different odor and flavor.
It can be tricky if this is your first harvest, unless you have a hygrometer, but this time, just go by 'feel'.
I live in a humid climate regardless of temp, so what is the norm for a lot of guys doesn't work for me.
I usually let mine sit on hangers, almost directly in front of a 6" desk fan for at least 7 days, then jar them up, and burp, and dump them out each time, rotating the top buds to the bottom for what usually ends up being a week, until they 'feel' right, but still, even after that, I will check my jars at east once every other day, especially during the summer when it can get up into the 90's here.

My East Coast Sour D. from last Winter, with 2 weeks veg, and around 300w of CFL's, I ended up with over 4 zips of cured smoke from her.

i always put mine on a drying rack for 3 days, jar for a day, rack for a day, jar for a day, then check to see if the jar has pulled anymore moisture. basically what your doing when u put it in the jar is it draws all the moisture from the center of the bud so you dont get a chemcially taste and so that the bud will burn worth a shit. also from the time you cut down to the time you start smoking is a race with mold. if your bud molds your boned time to start over.

Also BAKATARE you should consider getting dark buckets for pots instead of white ones. with white buckets for pots light will be allowed to enter and it will cause unhealthy roots in some places from the direct light. if u start seeing green roots protruding out don't say i didn't warn you. (or wrap ur white bucket in mylar to reflect the light away.)

i've used the brown bag method and it does work wonders if you are desperate just chuck a couple half burped / cured buds in a brown bag and by morning they are smokeable and you don't lose as much weight as if u try the crack head methods (microwave, heater, hair dryer)

What i do is line dry 3-4-5 days whatever until you can break off a bud and smoke it like normal. Then ill trim a bunch, let it sit in a brown paper bag overnight to pull out any excess moisture. After that it hits the jar to be burped once a day for about a week. No sifting, stirring sorting or any of that. Doing a couple lbs at a time and never once saw mold or a problem.
