I've got a bunch of quart sized jars and a several two quart screw top glass canisters...Should I not get too big on the curing jar size?

Just make sure you have enough jars for your harvest.
Don't fill them jars more than 70%-80% and don't stack them on top of each other.

key thing is making sure you have enough room to rearrange the buds and allow enough airspace for them to release moisture properly.so ya 70-80% full is best.

All of the above. You have to leave some room inside for the buds to move around, so air can get to all sides of them, or they may not dry uniformly. (IE don't pack them full).

In contrast, you don't want to put a really small volume of buds in a really big jar, because it will take a long time for the jar to build up to proper humidity levels, and your stuff may dry faster than it ought to. This isn't a problem if you're carefully measuring/controlling humidity, but most people don't. Try to keep the jar at least 1/4 full, if you can.

I shake em every hour amd open them for a few minutes at a time
Never heard of that one. Shake em? Really? I have been burping them daily though.

I've been hitting the Goodwill shops and finding the large glass canister jars for $2.00-3.00 a piece.
Thanks for the advice on not too full, not too empty. I haven't stuffed the jars..But they were more than 80% full..I'll be doing some rearranging.

You can buy new mason jars by the dozen for like $10.
Check your locally owned hardware store.
Yea i got the little half pint one and if you can get full pint or bigger id go for it jsut becuase its a pain in the ass having 5 jars for 1 oz. I like petert's idea of going to a thrift store..why not get what you need at a cheap price. glass is glass and i bet he can find bigger and better jars then the standard ones on wal marts shelf.

I guess i should have called them what they really are...They aren't actually mason jars..They are glass flour or sugar canisters..The kind with the metal clasp and rubber seal. Like mason jars but big. I harvested a little over 1/2 a plant about 3 weeks ago and filled 5 large 1 and 2 quart canisters. My avatar picture is one of my buds from that harvest. I'm on the lookout for the canisters now beause I will fill up at least 10-15 more with the plants I have left. :)
