Curing live?

What are the cons to curing a plant live? What I mean is, when it is time to harvest, not cutting the plant.

Instead, cutting all the main leaves and flushing all nutrients out of the soil medium. Then putting the plant in perpetual darkness for a while (4 days?).

After the 4 days, drying like normal. Will this help make the smoke smoother?

Thoughts?

and I don't think doing that would do anything, because the reason that your putting them into the dark is to kill the chlorophyll in the plant, if not your weed will taste like shit. and if the plant is still alive I don't know if the "green" will die that quick

I wouldn't recomend it. I would do all the flushing while the plant has all it's leaves and let it use all the nutes. If you have enough, you could maybe try it with a plant to see what happens.

I would not reccomend that. 4 days in the dark wont be good for the plants. If you want to give darkness before harvest (some swear by it , some say its BS) , then give it 48 hrs of dark and then chop.

that is a bad idea, just harvest how marijuana is supposed to be harvested, if you keep it on the plant, in the dark, your essentially just killing it slower, it will be alive, but dying in the darkness, and how do you expect to dry it, if its on a live plant? I guess it would start to dry after the plant eventually dies from lack of light...ehh its just a bad idea...wont work

Thank you all for the feedback.

Interesting.

I was trying to get rid of the nutes and chlorophyll, while keeping all the resin at top performance.

I would try on bagseed, but I actually have some Jack Herer. This seed is my first grow other than bag seed (cheap junk, but works for me. Jack should make me catatoniac.

You should have flushed already when the plant is at it's peak.

Lets say this:

What about flushing when 50% amber. And flush for each next 4 days (ish).

Then harvesting by total darkness for 4 days (thinking of getting rid of a lot of chlorophyll), no water. Cut after and let dry as normal.

Again, I was thinking of how to get rid of Nitrogen.

Yea, you could do that. That really comes down to how you want your smoke to "smoke" Just make sure they're all gone before you cut it.
