HPS is definitely more worth it if you're thinking about input costs; they're not that expensive and they will definitely produce a decent harvest. If heat or power bill is your biggest concern, go for the LED.Does anyone no anything about those ufo led light and if there worth a shit????
ive heard negative and positive dont no what to believe!
He's right about PAR.I just hope the op doesn't fall for this. You keep bringing up the low lumen output but high PAR, but what about penetration? As I said, air buds.
Please don't give misinformation to someone looking for advice on LED's. More lumens, bigger plants, bigger harvest. None of this PAR nonsense.
Good luck with your grow though.
Some people don't want to deal with excessive heat and exploding bulbs. And dude you just started growing and bought a brand new 1000w. I think you're just in love with your light. Some people have different reasons for growing... and many people grow just for themselves I personally think LEDs are very convenient in terms of heat and safety. Not everyone wants to have a 3000W HPS harvest every week type of dealOkay I was bored and did some searching.
90w 3800 lumens: http://www.ledlightsorient.com/90w-ufo-led-grow-lights-lgl0505-p-10.html
90w 3200 lumens: http://www.ledgrowlightsoutlet.com/90-w-ufo-led-grow-lights.html
Both of those give different lumen numbers. I think it's funny cause I have a 42w CFL bulb from Menards that costs $10 that gives out 4600 lumens. Which means it's also more efficient in terms of lumen per watt output.
Compare that to an HPS
600w 90,000 lumens: http://www.1000bulbs.com/product/4984/LU0600-0600T15.html
400w 55,000 lumens: http://www.amazon.com/400w-HPS-Hortilux-Bulb-Pressure/dp/B000BZ98BQ
I really hope okcomputer didn't buy that light system that costs over $1000 I could have bought 3 1000w bulbs for that price with change to spare
