Curled under leaves and possible root rot

I am using an NFT system
So I changed the res out a few days ago and added a little bit of nutrients, (using general hydroponics). The plants were 20 days from seed when this happened. A few days into the new res and the plants are looking horrible. I changed the res today, thinking maybe I put too many nutrients in the solution. The new res has no nutes, adjusted pH and an airstone going 24/7. Please advise if this was a good idea and if there's a possibility of saving these girls. thanks

do you have an air pump and air stone for this setup? second what do you have to keep the water healthy? aqua shield or similar? roots need tons of oxygen when in hydro.

yeah, have an air stone going 24/7 what's aqua shield? I read a lot about using h2o2, bleach, and or chlorine. So far have just been working with the chlorine that is in normal tap water. was thinking about h2o2, but now that the girls are looking like this am kinda of scared to add the h2o2 or bleach. checked on them today after about 8 hours in new res, they looking okay, no worse, maybe a little better. fingers crossed

go online to a hydro store and find a water solution. dont use bleach or chlorine. you have like a 4 inch air gap from plats to water right? go to the hydro threads. i cant remember the solution you need, i do soil. and im heading to bed.

look like one is overwater maybe not enough root to handle luch water on them

got some gold on the way, local place didn't have anything. they are looking less dead this morning, but the root color is still brown. really thank all ya'll for the help.

he is saying stop using hydro and use soil instead. i think if yo get the res treated the roots will clear up and all will be good. go search hydro grows im not a big hydro authority.

really cool, so here's the plants after today, just in ph'd 120 ppm tap water. now they're all pale, the newer grown roots look white, waiting on my zone in the mail tmrw, will that stuff arrest the issues that are going on now with these girls or should i just start over

My updated recipe: making a microbe tea

1 tsp mycogrow per gallon
1 tsp of ZHO per gallon
3/4 tbs molasses per gallon
1 handful ancient forest per 2 gallon


I have decided to add ZHO to ensure plenty of mycos in the res. After reading what LF reported I realized that the lab which makes mycogrow intends for you to use quite a bit in your application. This isn't much concern as far as bacteria because they multiply, but does bring into question just how many myco spores we get in a teaspoon. Since mycos do not multiply in the tea we can ensure there presents by adding ZHO. You can add ZHO directly to the res, and should add it to clone water, but adding them to the tea first will increase germination rate.

they've come back without treatment, looks like i over nutted em, for the leaves that have been damaged, do ya'll suggest cutting them off?

no dont cut them off till they are all used up. once the plants has decided a leaf is damaged it then takes all nutrients from it till its dead. then you take it off. i only beleave in removing when you have a scrog and you know they wont get any light or make it to the scrog lvl. and around week 4-5 of flower is when i would alos decide if th elower few nodes will produce or just waste energy. im waiting till i hook up the 600 hps then ill know how deep i can get the light.

okay cool, they've been growing great since res change, have a ph meter and all that, the one i got came very well calibrated, and was only approx 14.00, roots look awesome compared to a week ago when i started having this problem. thank ya'll for your help. this week i'll think i'll keep another small dose of the nutes, the level of the zone, and then just keep going, again thanks for advice,

you want ph 6.8 give or take when you feed/water. the soil will do the rest. if you got to 14 omg that will stop them in there tracks.
