Ive got these two containers..

2 questions..

If a container has a smell in it.. will it affect the bud at all.. Aka making the bud smell the same?

The glass jar would work perfectly.. i just cant get the damn smell of Molassas out of the thing..

So the other question is.. will the plastic container work? it seals air tight..

You got it. Air tight is step 1. Any odors from glass jar or plastic can be absorbed in the weed.

Alrighty.. the glass jar is a fail then.. So the plastic wont affect anything negatively as long as its Air Tight and Odorless?

Had the same problem with a big pickle jar. Take the lid off first of all and do not put it on till you use the jar. Put the jar outside in the sun with no lid for as long as you can before use. If there is still a small amount of smell depending on what strain you grew and the amount you will find that the bud smell will shortly over power any small left over smells in the jar. Oh and I have found most of the time the smell will be most strongest in the rubber sealant material they used on the lid to make it seal... My personal choice is allways glass over plastic but thats just me:bigjoint:

I've heard that plastic is bad, even if air tight...not sure why, just that it is bad...

Walmart has 12-pack 1-quart glass canning jars for $10. I would invest in some of those...get the wide-mouth though, as it makes life easier...

If the scent of whatever is in the jar previously can "leak" into the curing bud, does that mean that we could intentionally create "smelly" bud by putting things like mint sprigs (etc) in there ahead of time or even during. Anyone ever try this? I wonder about the effect that may have on flavor as well?

i know putting slices of orange peel in with the bud makes it absorb the smell and a little flavor, also helps if your weed has dried a little too far
