We use the monos to boost & supplement those colors that may be lacking WITHIN a specific CCT where reds and blue peak at different areas and intensities. Get it?
So basically a 7000k 3070 cob is going to be warm (red) white light but still lacking the intensity or completely not produce light that an additional red led could supplement. So essentially any cct cob is the same in that you would still need to suplement with additional leds that produce specific forms of light. We use the monos to boost & supplement those colors that may be lacking WITHIN a specific CCT where reds and blue peak at different areas and intensities. No. First of, 7000k doesn't exist. 5000,5700,&6500. These are all towards THE BLUE side of the spectrum. The 2700,3000,&3500 are more red. Which in turn equals different stages yes. Higher CCT for veg, lower for flower. So basically a 7000k 3070 cob is going to be warm (red) white light but still lacking the intensity or completely not produce light that an additional red led could supplement. But does this mean that certain cct cob are useful and specific for different stages of growth?
Oh thought i saw one on cutters site.I get confused because i think higher number higher temp warmer color. So since cobs dont produce enough of certain colours regardless, would it be better to go with cobs that fall in the middle of the spectrum and sup with monos? No. First of, 7000k doesn't exist. 5000,5700,&6500. Many of us have done full runs under just 3000/3500 with GREAT results. For the entire run. Supplementation isn't necessary, just helpful.Oh thought i saw one on cutters site.I get confused because i think higher number higher temp warmer color. If i mixed cobs in equal ratio between the different ends of the cct would that have an adverse affect on my plant, or are the colors just not at a high enough level to really make a difference? Many of us have done full runs under just 3000/3500 with GREAT results. Bro, buy 3500s and you'll be happy. ; )If i mixed cobs in equal ratio between the different ends of the cct would that have an adverse affect on my plant, or are the colors just not at a high enough level to really make a difference?
Lol i know, if people can grow under cfl bulbs im sure im going to be ok with my results, but these bastards arent cheap and if im gonna go for it i wanna go for the gold.Bro, buy 3500s and you'll be happy. ; )
Not many people supplement with monos bro. Besides maybe far red for flower trigger. Just use cxb3590/3070's in 3500k or mix 3000&4000 & all will be well.Lol i know, if people can grow under cfl bulbs im sure im going to be ok with my results, but these bastards arent cheap and if im gonna go for it i wanna go for the gold.
What are the most common mono sups and their purpose?
Alright ill just stick with that then lol. I have a million other questions but i know Im pushing the limits of stranger generosity here. Not many people supplement with monos bro. Besides maybe far red for flower trigger. Just use cxb3590/3070's in 3500k or mix 3000&4000 & all will be well.
Ask away.Alright ill just stick with that then lol. I have a million other questions but i know Im pushing the limits of stranger generosity here.
I already explained monos purposes. They boost certain colors in the spectrum. ie: 435nm blue, 630-660nm red. UV a,b, and c are 190-370;or something like that. We'd like to use uvb supplementation but there are very few ways to reach the UVB we need besides agromax PURE UVB t5 fluorescent bulbs. Leds aren't quite there yet besides ones costing $100's.Lol i know, if people can grow under cfl bulbs im sure im going to be ok with my results, but these bastards arent cheap and if im gonna go for it i wanna go for the gold.

Which colors do the plant use for what purpose? I know the red (IR?) triggers flowering, and someone else said something about trichome production? Is there any literature i can read up on?I already explained monos purposes. They boost certain colors in the spectrum. ie: 435nm blue, 630-660nm red. Tons of threads on it on here. But I told youWhich colors do the plant use for what purpose? I know the red (IR?) triggers flowering, and someone else said something about trichome production? Is there any literature i can read up on?
Far Red puts them to sleep quicker, allowing for more maturity, IR triggers trichromes, Deep Red prmotes healthy plant growth and does cause some stretch, as well. I alos use Royal Blue during veg phase to shorten node length and promote healthy plants. I do not know of an LED that reduces pests. I use NEEM oil for that purpose. peaceGet ready for this...
This couldn't be mimicked by mixing say 4-6 3070s with half cool and half warm light?
Are your supplements in colors that the 3070 cant produce or just not enough?
Would it be better to get 3070s that are in the middle of the cct spectrum and then supplement or mix warm/cold 3070s (and sup)?
(i think) I know that far red is used to trigger hormones that tell the plant its time to flower, and i think the blue is to reduce stretching and help veg growth? Do you have all running at once or are they timed?
Is the deep red based on that study where it reduced pest infestation by 50%, and how much trichome production do you notice with the IR? far red is to trigger flower hormones correct? You run these an hr or so after lights out? What's the difference between a 3590 and 3070?
Thanks for your help so far Im litterally taking notes here guys, this is an insane amount of knowledge to retain and im new to indoor.
I know I am replying to an older post. However I do not care.we could add 80 and 90 cri versions if people want it
Cheers
