Also gg sinks made from 1070 I don't know if they have the same supplier...
So same alloy , a bit bigger surface area than the 120 mm heatsinks which is 50 watt rated .
Did I missing something?
Is it any other reason that those sinks should not work well for my setup?
yes ours are made from AL1070. I believe our 80mm pin length is important as this is what drives cooling with any airflow in the room and our 2 flat edges with 4 holes make mounting to rails a breeze
Cheers

80mm ? With the plate ? Because in the site is mentioned as 80 mm heat sink height ...

Hey guys,

just wondering why nobody is actually talking about the choice of the K value, or is there a different thread somewhere?
I am considering a Mau5-V kit for a 3x3 (actually 80x80cm) and it would be (mainly) used for flowering. The default in the shop menu is 3500K so i assume this is what most people are buying?
@Growmau5, in one of your videos you mentioned that the efficiency goes down with the lower K values. Is there a big difference in efficiency between the different cobs which are available in the cutter kits?
@welight, have you got any experience shipping to Yurop/UK? How long would it take and what shipping fee would you charge?

Thanks for the excellent work by the way. This seems to be the breakthrough we've been waiting for.

Hi Bad
There is no default value, you can select from various CCT in the drop down box. Efficiency is a function of the flux bins, the higher the flux bin the higher the efficiency however eff can also be related to current drive, ie you can have two led flux bins one higher than the other, but if you run the lower bin at lower current, you can achieve same eff, but at a lower flux output, depends what you want. Ship to the UK is approx USD50

I believe 3500k just offers too much usable raw light output, but I'm going with some 90cri 3000k's for a dedicated flowering area myself... And because I have a light with 3500k, 4000k, and 5000k already lol.

there is nothing to talk about 3500k all the way, and you are golden baby. these plants im running now, are 3500k full cycle, clone to now 2 weeks in 1212. do it do it.

You're right, i remember now. It was in the list in the picture of one of the Mau5 kits, not in the drop down menu. That's why i thought it must be your first choice.

I'm sure Mau5 mentioned something about some drawback with the lower K LEDs. But after his answer to my question which one to use it doesn't matter anyway. The 3500K CD Bin seems to be the one to go for. No reason to mix bins or K values.

Thanks guys

nice! tell us about your grounding and what you did there....
For grounding I mounted the driver directly to the aluminum frame and secured it down which uses the drivers ground for the fixture. I tested this by using my multi-meter set at 200k ohms and touching the positive to multiple spots on the frame and the negative to the ground prong on the plug of the driver getting a 0 reading on the meter. My electrician buddy finally made it by today and gave everything a thumbs up so it'll be put up tomorrow morning and I'll get some pics for you guys.

After researching the costs at every possible place it seems at least with the actual Cree Cobs themselves cutter.com are by far the best value I can find, even after shipping costs and my local import and taxes the prices are awesome in comparison. Add in the 10% discount and its enough to give a guy a little wood! Is that wrong??

Very wrong... big wood or no wood at all.

Gday guys.
I have a 20 foot shipping container that I want to set up with these lights.
Could anyone suggest a design and layout that would suit.
Thanks for any input
