Yeah the only thing I do up top is top. Then defo down below but this is my first indoor grow. I had a 34 day old outdoor plant a few months ago but it was short lived. Someone flipped the pot over and I didnt think about cloning her so I just got mad and threw her in the woods.

I think it’s important to differentiate between selective pruning and raw dawg defoliation like the stripping guys. There is a balance, I haven’t actually tried to strip down techniques, I don’t

eh. I think we need to differentiate defoliating vs selective pruning in veg( which is good and should be done) vs these guys stripping all the way. I’ve never done the naked strip as I can’t imagine it would be productive unless for some reason the plant wasn’t trained to prepare for flower in the first place. Not my garden though so it’s whatever

Yeah, I agree I’m not a fan of heavy defoliation myself.

In my opinion... DO NOT REMOVE FAN LEAVES! I recently did a test (side by side comparisons) on a few plants removing most of the lower fan leaves and it was BAD! The plants did not want to finish, there were no roots in the buckets, extra smaller leaves grew on the buds, the harvest was poor and the plant was difficult to control. I also read somewhere that you can shock the plant into a hermaphrodite, but not in my experiment. Remove leaves that touch soil and yellow leaves, that is it! If your plant is too bushy, grow fewer plants to give it enough room for it to get enough light, or grow another more manageable strain. I do cut lower branches to promote top growth. In contrast, if the plant is going to be used exclusively for clones, cutting fan leaves will cause the side branches to grow out perfectly for cloning.

Could you expound how you scientifically proved this with your experiment? They were both clones?

Please post pics of your controlled experiment you’ve done. I’d really love to see it and how it turned out.
