I have a few plants that are a month old.im still new to this and was wondering if its ok to cut the biggest leafs. Can some one explain what this process does for the plant? thanks.
I guess it all depends, Certin strains probably wouldnt like it, But others might love it, I'd say its alright though. Just like i said, dont overdo it, And if you can pin them outa the way, Then do it
This is the only time out of maybe 30 grows that I haven't taken off all the water (fan) leaves. That was just the way I learned way back and I never really changed this until I read about it here a few months back. I left all healthy leaves and only took ones that fell off in my fingertips.
I can state that buds won't grow very well at all in the places where you take leaves. In fact, they will make you wish they were pop-corn size.
I've had to remove some leaves before not because of crowding but either dying or half eaten.I suppose taking one here and one there isnt gonna hurt after all it happens in the wild...moderation is key.
Exactley. Me myself, i took off 6 HUGE leaves. when i first FIMed and shit. And the plant didnt even go into shock. But not all plants will be that resistant to shock and stuff. Be careful. And always remember. Its just a plant.
I thought I'd read somewhere that you need to keep at least 50% of the leaves for the plant to do well - and let's say if you do that and due to some illness or bug you lose some of that %, you might be SOL for your grow. I don't know if I'd risk it on a young plant. It probably needs the leaves to gain the roots about now...but I differ to those who know more than I do!
