Cutting issue not rooting

I just had another cutting die after it didn't root after 15 days. I take the cutting with a razor blade and did it into rooting gel. I then stick it into rockwool. I keep the temps up to high 70's. For the first 5 days or so I keep the humidity up to around 90% under a dome. After that I open the dome up and the humidity comes down to the 70-75% range. When I did the rockwool in the beginning I ph to about 6.0, after the 5th or 6th day when I lift the dome a little I water the rockwool with ph of 7.5 (I don't ph it down) is this a problem?? ... Also after the cutting died I ripped the rockwool open and it rooted with whispy roots, but the roots looked weak... Whats the problem? Should I keep the humidity closer to 90% more than 5 days and should the rockwool be wetter or drier through out the process? .... I also keep my 40 watt veg bulb about 3 feet above my cuttings in my 3x3 tent.

Uh . . . . I think I’d be considering another method. Rockwool sucks. I just transplanted 4 well rooted cuttings from Solo cups of peat soil. Guy just cuts and scrapes. Sticks right into Pro Mix. I do the same. No 45 degree cut with a sterile blade or anything else. Or root in plain tap water. Change water every 2-3 days and keep in low light.

Yeah - shitcan the rock wool. Use rooters - less drama.

My rule is - no direct light until roots are showing, direct light can cause the cutting to photosynthesize instead of putting out roots.

Get u a cloning machine. Two weeks should look like this

I rip my clones with my hands, fingers and nails. Always 100%. A few drops of bleach and bloom nutrients in a gallon tote, I set it and forget it. 5-7 days later roots are forming. No dome, no spraying, nothing! Lower temps are better when water cloning, I try to keep them at 21C/70F

People make cloning way harder than it has to be... Rooted under a cheap regular 16w CFL, less light is better when rooting clones.

I did this method too and had issues. I'm a good grower, but always had clone issues depending on the strain... I had the dewey mister.

I've rooted many clones on the kitchen sink in a clear 32oz bottle growing up with ambient lighting.
You have to rethink and change your methods if something doesn't work or work insufficient.

I've had great success with cubes and domes way back in the day but the extra work and cost is simply not worth it. I root way faster and cheaper in DWC.

If you follow directions and guidelines you won't experience any problems! If the cut is healthy you should see roots in 5-7 days.

Do you keep the rooters wet or let them dry out a little? Do you clip a few leaves off too?

Well I got PM now, but have always had issues with cuttings rooting. It depends on the strain, some rooted at 90% and others at 66%. I've tried different methods and it all sucks.

Maybe something wrong with your room and/or environment? Have you tried at different locations?
