cutting the big leaves?

i was wandering if it was ok to cut the big leaves off of my plants so the small branches can get more light,can i do that and will they be ok and have better lighting?i can put pics up if needed.thanks for the advice.and by the way its been close to 3 months since i planted them.one is about 2 foot tall so far and branching out its branches from all the leaves join to the stalk.will it start budding soon?and my second one is slightly taller then but a couple of inches and has been growing slow,the branches are not as big.like i said i can put pics up if needed.

If you're in veg and they are 2 foot tall, I hope you have the room for a 4-6 foot plant cause they will stretch after the flip...double and depending on the strain, maybe even triple in height. I would make the flip ASAP. As far as the leaves go, I would leave them and do a little LST to get more light under the canopy. Search this site or there's lots of info on you tube regarding the process. Good Luck

Topping will let the lower branches catch up to the top. Giving you a flatter plant and there for more light... and there for not as much popcorn buds.

and ok and how do i top it?and what should i do with my bigger plant,let it be?and my timing is roughly 18/6.i have a plug in timer and keep a breeze on them.im not totally sure what my lights should be at.and my biggest plant i think is a female but im not totally sure.could you tell me if it is?View attachment 2996871

And to top you just chop it where you have two side by side nodes. Then the top will slow down growing while the sides catch up.

Usually, when its shorter in height you will cut off or (i prefer) pinch off the top of the plant. Grab the little bulbous new leaf formation with your fingernails and pull until it comes off and you hear a little pop. This redistibutes growth hormones in the plant and makes the trunk of the tree ( stalk of the plant ) regenerate into two large branches.
Repeat this step and you will get many tips on the plant that you can flower as close to the light as possible.

ah ok thanks.ill do that tonight.can you tell if from the pic if my plant is female or not?i cant tell i never grew before,this is my first time growing from scratch
