Cuttings w/Heat Mat Not Cloning

the bottom clone will be bad, but the rest should be fine, that being said i would just drop the stem in a cup of water in the meantime, no reason not too.

I get 90+% keepers even when i take from flowering plants, the secret is to keep the air VERY humid. A dome is not even enough i still spray the inside of the dome and the plants as often as i can, if its a weekend and i aint got shit going on i literally mist the dome every time i pee. I also use rooting hormone, though it is absolutely un-needed just cuz i think it helps them start faster, cloned plants r much weaker in the root department than seed plants to begin with. Take clones that have a strong woody stem, if the stem cracks the cutting is dead.
When I do that, I get some serious mold..

IMO, you don't need to put your cuts in water first. I've NEVER ever done that, and yet it's been advised for many years. Just take ur cut, and act somewhat fast.
A little bit more detailed way I take a cut:
Take a cut a little longer than needed. Cut the leaves into a roughly 3"circle. Shave some girth, cut a 45, dip in ur clonex(i put my clonex into a shot glass for this, and throw away the un-used). Push into cube.
I use a shishkabob? Stick to poke, and then reem a new hole in a cube, BEFORE taking the cut. The whole process for one cut is about 30 seconds.

My best bet is you are frying them with the heating pad. You should put something between the mat and tray like an upside down cookie sheet and make adjustments to the mat to calibrate a healthy 80-85 degree rootzone. The air should be 10 degrees cooler. This will encourage rapid rooting. Keep moisture from settling on cuttings, the over soaking of cubes and leaves will be problematic for a number of reasons....I use the least water possible to maintain rigidity of my cuttings. Roots seek out moisture faster and aggressively when there is less of it everywhere. I reccommend a good rinse of the plants to used for cuttings. I spray them off several times in the days before and use a little h2o2 in the spray to kill off pathogens that cause mold or fungus.....this is optional. Keep it clean, leave them alone, and gradually harden them off by lowering humidity.

Hey guys . I always cut my stem in half about a quarter inch before I dip in the clonex and always let the cuttings rest in some reversed water while u take the other clones until u r ready to dip in cloning gel also make sure your gel is dry before u cube em because it will come off on the cube if it's not dry and would probably give ya root rot. I feel yahoo man no one would wanna loose one clone from a strain as precious as ww. Don't give up brother keep trying and I agree with the other guy about some misting make sure they r getting some oxygen in there as well I put 8th inch touch holes in my dome I think three of them haunt cloned in years though.4204eva
