I saw spots when I turned it on for like 3 minutes. LolAwesome, hows the light compared to a 8 bulb t-5 fixture?
I like to use cool white for vegatating.Nice. Do you think 5k is the optimal veg spectrum? Ive been thinking bout making a light for indoor food production, mostly leafy greens but possibly tomatoes too.Was considering 4000k or possibly even 3500k but maybe 5000 would be better....
Yeah. I have dimming. Gonna need it at first.Nice, hope you have dimming capabilities. I would start at 3ft from the canopy at least with that much light.
Thanks good luckI am going to make my own light with a mix of 6500k and 3000k light to see how that works putting it together tomorrow can't wait looks good VW
Definitely. I built a similar light for flower, my cobs are 12" on center in a square similar to your set up, also 200w total. Total beast in flower, i would be scared to even try and veg with them unless i was at least 48" from the canopy. I do have lenses though which seem to focus the light a bit more....just saying, be careful. They are most likely more intense than any light you have ever used.Yeah. I have dimming. I am building an 8 CoB CXB3590 3500k CD bin in a rectangle as well. That one has 2- C1400 drivers. I have 48" clr. PeaceDefinitely. Why would 200 watts of lighting need to be that high above the canopy? Wouldn't that fuck shit up? Im totally lost and confused now.Definitely. Maybe a little exaggeration there. Just saying at 50w these cobs are pretty bright. For the way i do things, that would be too much light to veg under unless it was kept really high over a large footprint. Everyone has their own unique needs for their environment, so my view is definitely skewed based on my own needs. I guess it was a round about way of warning him to be careful not to burn his ladies. Why would 200 watts of lighting need to be that high above the canopy? Wouldn't that fuck shit up? ever veg with an MH light? same result. higher lumens during veg makes bigger trees and bigger nugs in bloom. Grow small smoke small. grow big, smoke big. I plan on vegging for three top four weeks, a few plants not a forest. better light to all spaces with brighter light. BTW, it can be dimmed to 350mA and 23W, but why? I have a 400W 8CoB LED for the flower tent. peace.Maybe a little exaggeration there. Just saying at 50w these cobs are pretty bright. I usually am between 12" -18" above canopy and the ladies love the weather. I used to place my T-5" inches above the canopy, now I can be close and less heat too. great growth potential. I use hydro DWC/Aero custom built so it is not hard to keep the ladies fed.Why would 200 watts of lighting need to be that high above the canopy? Wouldn't that fuck shit up? much brighter. looks like a winner to me. peaceAwesome, hows the light compared to a 8 bulb t-5 fixture?
No, I veg with LED, for the exact reasons you mentioned above. Haven't tried everything, but I know I have to keep my A51 sgs190 panels at least 24"-30" away(at half power) from my vegging clones(around their 6th week). Same plants could be a couple inches away from a 6 bulb t5. My cob fixtures(200w) are much more intense so I would be scared to veg with them. Then again, I use lenses, so we're not apples to apples. My experience vegging with less powerful units seems to point in the direction of less power and more spread. I'm going with reflectors next time, so I'll be interested to see how your light performs.ever veg with an MH light? same result. higher lumens during veg makes bigger trees and bigger nugs in bloom.
