i am talking about a 4 foot tall by 4 foot wide plant tied to a wall 1 layer thick(maybe 6 to 8 inches deep ) using efficient 1 or 3 watt leds or even the vero 10's in a light just as big as the screen within inches of the plant.instead of using 16 cxb chips why not a whole bunch of low wattage leds. efficient low watt leds can penetrate about a foot deep and with so many there will be no shaded spots on the screen.this is a older idea i always liked but the cost back then was too high.this is all theory anyways because i ordered 20 cxb3590s today and i can not try that many tests having only 12 plants as per my mmj card. That is a good question, I tend to have an uneven 3D canopy so if yours is very even on the screen you probably could get good results with lower PPFD but it seems that 2D approach would also translate to a lower yield in that space unless you were using a stacked shelving SOG style?
Thanks for the response and the link, some great info!I've never used a alpine64. But the 80*kb lenses will fit on a alpine11+ even with the little elevated chip mounting zone. Which should decrease the focus slightly being closer to the glass(not an ideal les to lens, but it fits)
I would suspect it to fit on the 64 too.
Plenty of info on optical performance in here

Medical marijuana cardBonjour
Sorry but what is a mmj card?
How's your grow supra? Hope (sure) everything is ok!
Have a great day ★
have you ever heard of google? most of your questions are easily answered by a quick google search, would help a lot in keeping threads on topic...Bonjour

Cut the man a break. English isn't his first language, so I'd say he's doing fine. How's your French?have you ever heard of google? most of your questions are easily answered by a quick google search, would help a lot in keeping threads on topic...

Thank you supra I was too worried about my 3000k cobs, I haven't finished my diy grow light yet. And I have finally tuned in my super soil got .72 gpw from marshydro should do pretty well with new cobs can't wait.@zep_lover The CXB3590 3000K CB bin is very high efficiency. The 3500K get a higher bin designation but I suspect that the 3000K is pushing the upper limit of the CB bin so it might be very close efficiency with the 3500K in practice. I have been running 8 of the CXB3590 3000K CB with no complaints
@littlejacob the grow is going very well thanls for checking in. It is summer here so ambient temps and humidity is up a bit. That slows things down and takes more electricity but not a big deal at all. Nothing much exciting to report, still in the process of phasing out the older LEDs and bringing in CXB3590 3500K CD.
Last few runs I experimented with partial no-till by just adding in a big helping of fresh EWC and watering in some chicken manure/fish hydrolysate. The results were not great, the ladies got very hungry and the soil fertility is not testing up to par. I am going back to ammending/cooking the soil from now on even though it is more work, I think my buckets are just too small for no-till plus I am running through EWC faster than I can make it.
Despite all that trouble, last run was 1.22 gpw and that tent was mostly CXA3070 3K AB @ 25W ea (50% efficiency)
From what I've seen here, you should kill it with them.Thank you supra I was too worried about my 3000k cobs, I haven't finished my diy grow light yet. And I have finally tuned in my super soil got .72 gpw from marshydro should do pretty well with new cobs can't wait.
mine neither, what's your point? are non native english speakers except from staying on topic? http://rollitup.org/#medical-marijuana.98Cut the man a break. English isn't his first language, so I'd say he's doing fine. How's your French?
Wow. You ARE a self centered little prick, aren't you? The rest of the world doesn't need to apologise to the likes of you. Now shut up.mine neither, what's your point? are non native english speakers except from staying on topic?
He's from the land of head up and locked.Bonjour
T'es en boucles mon pote...remets toi!
Do you keep thread on topic now...
All of this blablabla cause I ask a fucking question...Did you tip mmc on google? Did you find the answer on the first pages...I didn't...I know I am a cheese eater (in fact i hate it but...) froggy who walk in the streets a bottle of cheap wine in a hand and a baguette in the other...and yes I have also a beret on my head plus a sailor shirt...like all french of course!!!
Where are you from???
Have a good glass of chardonnay!
The cobs are about 55% efficient @1050. If you haven't ordered your cobs go for 3500k they are 7% more efficient at same price. A lot are getting great results from itHey guys... I've acquired all the necessary components aside from the cobs and driver... Decided to go at my project in two stages - first consisting of 5 cxb3590 3000k cb 36v driven by one mean well 185h -c1050b.
The total on the cobs is 180v and the driver supports 190v... Still not sure how to calculate efficiency, but I got a feeling it should be pretty decent!
I will build an identical fixture later and add it to my space and dim it back for even more efficiency goodness....
I may still need to lean on you guys during the wiring phase... I think I have a pretty good understanding but will want to be absolutely sure... Watched a video from Realstyles - wagos are schweet! The video was informative and helped me to realize that one could hook the whole unit (fans ,driver, and lights) to one plug...
I wish there were a general reference video(for dummies) with freeze frames ,captions, and close-ups!
Buying the cobs and driver in about a week ,once I have them, I will report back... Be Green, peoples!
