D-Limonene Infused Extracts

does anyone have any experience with adding essential oils such as D-limonene to their extraction process??

I have read on ICMAG that some people add a small amount of the oils to their alcohol solution prior to winterization to add flavor and aroma....has this already been discussed?

just curious been considering trying it

D-Limonene can be used as a solvent for extraction but is also itself a refined terpene. I too wonder if D-Limonene would be a preferable additive to use for thinning oil for use in vape pen cartridges.

Anyone have input?

Done at most dispensaries?? Dam hyper taboo, are these the mofo's that give me an auto bad rep as soon as I say limonene? It makes me ill when i detect limonene in things but it's a solvent to me with a taboo rep so it's a trained response to gag if I taste it. It's disgusting at 1 drop and will dissolve your oil, maybe it works with flower's because of all the combustion confusion but it don't taste like any citrus bearing strain i've extracted. You do know limonene contains mystery oil of it's own? not that your thinking of extracting with it but just saying maybe let weak oil be weak oil and steer clear of adulteration before the next person who asked me if I add limonene to the butane hash oil I don't gets stabbed up with a dirty dabber.

Limonene is a terpene and a ingredient in an essential oil but not one itself. Do not add any other essential oils to cannabis. I think there is some stuff they sell at the clubbs called "Pure Gold" and they add d-limonene to it. It is naturally found to different degrees in most cannabis strains and could be re-introduced back into your concentrate. You lose it during purging of your solvent so adding it back in is not crazy at all. Be careful to add an extremely small amount and do it at the right time because if you introduce it too early it just evaporates away, but if your concentrate is alreday solid then its too late and you'll have gooey spots wherever it is applied. More work than its worth imo.

Adding back the natural terpenes was something that interested me as well. I got some eucalyptol which is a naturally occurring terpene. I find it leaves some little flakes of something in the extract undissolved. Limonene was the next thing to look at. I found a source for essential oils, they extracted eucalyptol just for my order, and they do USP extracts; http://shop.lebermuth.com/natl_chemicals_raw_materials.php .

Ive heard alot if talk about this lately. Imo why would you want to adulterate your oil. I love hot pepper but i dont add capsaicin to my oil

I was looking for something to make shatter/wax an oil that would work in an e-cig. The intent in adding back in the light terpenes like limonene and eucalyptol was to avaoid unnatural substances like PG, VG and PEG. Those turpenes are in the buds, but are often lost in extraction process.

Where the heck is everyone getting this light terpene talk from? Daub what's gunna evaporate away in the purge? you purge at 176c? cuzz limonene won't budge till then...........
Even when trying to just add a little flavor to plant matter tasting oil ppl are gunna fuck up, just dead the subject and except the oil you've been dealt in life.

Make dry sift. Then you're not guessing. Lol.
