Seed order still saying that it was processed through NY as of the 19th 2am . Im getting antsy...

Just ordered a Blackstar 240 watt LED unit to go side by side with my haight 180 watt. LOL bringing my total to 420 watt :p

Also ordered some light yoyo's so moving them around will be easy. I can't wait!
 
fucking sweet man ...... dont mean to burst your bubble or anything but the "240w" blackstar only runs at 160w of true power ..... so you will have more like 340w of true power in there .... still gonna be fucking awesome :D just thought i would give ya a heads up. cheers man happy growing!
 
Hmm... either way, it did better than the haight in other side by sides so they should rock together!
 
exactly man! its those companies and there tricky marketing fucking people around. this will work out very nice for you ....did i mention your the coolest? great idea for a stelth grow man props to you.

Unfortunately as you get out from the edge of the fixture the values drop drastically to almost nothing until you get down to at least a foot. Even then the spread isnt enough to light the entire box well. I would need to be at least 14-16" above plants to light the entire thing. But then the outside edges would only be getting around 20 micromoles.

Thoughts? Lighting gurus?

Abstract

Effect of different photosynthetic photon flux densities (0, 500, 1000, 1500 and 2000 μmol m[SUP]−2[/SUP]s[SUP]−1[/SUP]), temperatures (20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 °C) and CO[SUB]2[/SUB] concentrations (250, 350, 450, 550, 650 and 750 μmol mol[SUP]−1[/SUP]) on gas and water vapour exchange characteristics of Cannabis sativa L. were studied to determine the suitable and efficient environmental conditions for its indoor mass cultivation for pharmaceutical uses. The rate of photosynthesis (P[SUB]N[/SUB]) and water use efficiency (WUE) of Cannabis sativaincreased with photosynthetic photon flux densities (PPFD) at the lower temperatures (20–25 °C). At 30 °C, PN and WUE increased only up to 1500 μmol m[SUP]−2[/SUP]s[SUP]−1[/SUP] PPFD and decreased at higher light levels. The maximum rate of photosynthesis (P[SUB]N max[/SUB]) was observed at 30 °C and under 1500 μmol m[SUP]−2[/SUP]s[SUP]−1[/SUP] PPFD. The rate of transpiration (E) responded positively to increased PPFD and temperature up to the highest levels tested (2000 μmol m[SUP]−2[/SUP]s[SUP]−1[/SUP] and 40 °C). Similar to E, leaf stomatal conductance (g[SUB]s[/SUB]) also increased with PPFD irrespective of temperature. However, g[SUB]s[/SUB] increased with temperature up to 30 °C only. Temperature above 30 °C had an adverse effect on g[SUB]s[/SUB] in this species. Overall, high temperature and high PPFD showed an adverse effect on P[SUB]N[/SUB] and WUE. A continuous decrease in intercellular CO[SUB]2[/SUB] concentration (Ci) and therefore, in the ratio of intercellular CO[SUB]2[/SUB] to ambient CO[SUB]2[/SUB] concentration (Ci/Ca) was observed with the increase in temperature and PPFD. However, the decrease was less pronounced at light intensities above 1500 μmol m[SUP]−2[/SUP]s[SUP]−1[/SUP]. In view of these results, temperature and light optima for photosynthesis was concluded to be at 25–30 °C and ∼1500 μmol m[SUP]−2[/SUP]s[SUP]−1[/SUP] respectively. Furthermore, plants were also exposed to different concentrations of CO[SUB]2[/SUB] (250, 350, 450, 550, 650 and 750 μmol mol[SUP]−1[/SUP]) under optimum PPFD and temperature conditions to assess their photosynthetic response. Rate of photosynthesis, WUE and Ci decreased by 50 %, 53 % and 10 % respectively, and Ci/Ca, E and g[SUB]s[/SUB]increased by 25 %, 7 % and 3 % respectively when measurements were made at 250 μmol mol-1 as compared to ambient CO[SUB]2[/SUB] (350 μmol mol[SUP]−1[/SUP]) level. Elevated CO[SUB]2[/SUB] concentration (750 μmol mol[SUP]−1[/SUP]) suppressed E and g[SUB]s[/SUB] ∼ 29% and 42% respectively, and stimulated P[SUB]N[/SUB], WUE and Ci by 50 %, 111 % and 115 % respectively as compared to ambient CO[SUB]2[/SUB] concentration. The study reveals that this species can be efficiently cultivated in the range of 25 to 30 °C and ∼1500 μmol m[SUP]−2[/SUP]s[SUP]−1[/SUP] PPFD. Furthermore, higher PN, WUE and nearly constant Ci/Ca ratio under elevated CO[SUB]2[/SUB] concentrations in C. sativa, reflects its potential for better survival, growth and productivity in drier and CO[SUB]2[/SUB] rich environment.

I am debating on Mainlining it. I figure its best to practice the different forms of manicuring on this tester plant before doing so with my seeds. I will do two plants per light and stagger them by 4 weeks or do two longer flower plants on one side.


I am getting rather excited for my order to get here. Still debating what to plant for sure but leaning toward

Critical Jack Herer, Lemon OG Kush, G13's Raw Diesel , And then its a toss up between Purple Wreck and Kandy Kush

As soon as the Blue Heron gets here I will pop half the beans and start vegging them for the next round. I hope I get a male, i'd love to save some pollen for breeding.
 
Just checked my attitude order status, It's in the state! ... which means it will be here tomorrow.

The same day my light and shit are showing up.... eek lol. Thankfully different shippers but still. Me thinks I should take the day off tomorrow to catch these so they aren't sitting on the porch.
 
damn i need to find 3 tvs :0 hmmm i wonder where i would find similar size i just ordered three tents 2x4, cause building cabinets wouldn't look stealth and i couldn't find any professionally made(not some ghetto plywood obvious its a grow box shit) cabinet with the right dimensions(2x4) so i went with the tents for quik dismaltle and plans small enough to fit in cardboard boxs.

but that tv has got awesome dimensions lots to play with, 3 of them wouldnt be so inconspicuous, but one would be awesome. for veg or something.

Im going to veg in my closet I think in a big rubbermaid tote. Both the Blackstar 240w and the haight 180w I think should bring a yeild... we shall see. A buddy of mine had a sweet idea of putting and actual 65" Flatscreen on the front and put those air pistons on it so it lifts easy. Would be even MORE stealth if it was also a "Working" TV ;)

I just think the TV would create a lot of heat.
 
tv would generate some heat but hell if your not using co2 i would rig up a 4" centrfugal fan (165 cfm roughly) to a can filter 9000 (90 cfm roughly) this will give tons of air flow temps should stay ambient. and tv would not be a problem. plus that would probably be the illest grow box ever.

i think you go an inline fan already right? you should be fine heat wise even w/ a 400w in there.

if i where you i would not limit myself to LED only think about some flouro side lighting perhaps some UVB?
 
if i where you i would get one of those metal lockers to veg in, they are usualy 36x20x60 tall. discreete and will fit about anywhere.(i seem them on CL for about 30-50$ all the time)

remember to configure some type of lock for your TV setup though JIC.
 
Yea, I can easily slap together something discrete in the garage. I already keep the big door locked and have the deadbolt reversed so no one can get in there but me. Been just waiting for temps to steady out before moving anything out there.

Awesome setup! All I have is this skinny LED TV ;). I've got a discrete grow going on in the closet with 2 rubbermaids stacked. Not nearly as much room as you've got here. Nice lighting setup as well. Can't wait to see the progress on this!
 
Exciting day today. Should of been in bed 4 hours ago.

Out of the new order I am cracking lemon OG kush (runty seed), Purple wreck, G13's Raw Diesel and Critical Jack herer.

Moved a lot of things around today. Moved two fish tanks to make room for the TV in the backroom of the house so its not the first damn thing you see when you walk in. It's discrete but I just don't feel comfortable with it right there.

Not long ago I scored a Haight ppf-800 (180w) off craigslist for $150 and fell in love with it. I did par readings on the unit HERE.

After using it for a while I decided that I wanted a second one. For the life of me I could not find another one near the price I paid so I decided to look at other manufacturers. Blackstar being the obvious choice. There's other Chinese manufacturers but from what I read they are not of the same quality. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Needless to say I ordered a blackstar 240w from ebay, specs can be found HERE.
