Dabpress 6 ton personal vs 10 ton driptech

Hey, I’m looking at ordering a press from US and shipping to outside US. With shipping/import fees the 6 ton personal and 10 ton driptech come out at the same price, the 10 ton is actually $1 cheaper.
Which of these presses is better? This will be my first machine, I’ve never made rosin or even seen any concentrate before so it’s totally new to me.
Any other press recommendations welcome too.

I must admit I am dismayed there is a discussion of price here. I’ve always been taught that the social and political health of any republic hinges on ... a free press.

I have a dab press 6 ton which I've lent to a friend and he's getting great results.

When picking I asked the Dab Press representative which was best and he said that hydraulic fluid used in the 10 ton press can get messy.

You don't need tons and tons of pressing power, more time and heat with the press.

I also read the 10 ton frame it built out of aluminum whereas the 6 is steel. I’m leaning more towards the 6 now. If I got the 10, I would need to purchase a hand pump and gauge separately. Seems like a bit of a hassle

I have the 6 ton dab press and I've gotten a lot of value out of it. Yields could be a bit higher, but I am still dialing in my technique and searching for a high yield strain.

The 10 ton press isn't really any cheaper if you also have to buy the hand pump, is it? Those things add another couple hundred dollars I thought.

Pressed this on my 6 ton yesterday. It has changed consistency from a hard tack to more of a buttery semi solid since then. Super fascinating.

PSI is determined on the plate size 3x5 area is 15 square inches so 6 tonnes is roughly 12,000 psi so your just under the 1000 psi mark per square inch. This will be fine for pressing flower and concentrates. Out of the 2 presses you are looking at one has a pump included while the 10 tonne does not so you will need to buy a pump as well to use that one. The hand pump they sell is an extra 135$.

I have been looking for a while and I think it really depends on what you are going to put through it. I only bought one for personal use and wanted to use the lower less dense buds for rosin, I picked up an 800 lb manual press and it works great, got a decent press on my first attempt. Now it will take me a long time to do any type of quantity but at 2 to 3 grams per press it is enough for me anyway and was the best value for the price I could find. https://thetrippyhippy.com/shop/extractors/rosin-press/tth-starter-series-manual-rosin-press/

I've gotten full melt every time I've pressed, except the one time I got a bad blow out.

I think a pressure gauge could be useful for consistency's sake, but I am just making a personal stash here not trying to get consistent results to market.

Hey, yeah that’s the Dulytek dhp7 v3, I was looking at one of those but heard some bad stuff about Dulytek, the handle supposedly breaks easy. I can get a Nugsmasher sent from America so that’s a possible route.
I guess now it’s between nugsmasher and Dulytek

I have the 6ton Dabpress and it’s been great. I wish the plate opening was a bit wider. It maxes out at like 7 grams before blow out. I’ll press something and post a pic now. Good yields but I’m tired of pressing small amounts at a time
