Paging Dr. Greenthumb!!!!!!!
This is my first Journal documenting my 2nd HID grow.
For this grow I will be taking my 11 sprouted bagseeds, cloning them and putting them directly into 12/12 to find the sex (to get the most veg. time possible on the mothers with minimal chance of turning hermi). I will then remove the dreaded males and start mothering the female seedlings and supplying my perpetual "assembly line" with the mothers.
A 2'x6' closet will serve as the mother/clone room (I will be FIMing and Topping the mothers as needed to fit the space) and I will either be using a 4x8 tent to flower or a slightly larger 6x6 tent with the same lighting (this setup just allows me more space to move as I plan to fill the given 32 square feet using a SOG-type method).
The lights being used in the veg. room are currently:
- (1) Hydrofarm Commercial 2ft 4-bulb T5 fixture (~3 in. above the tallest seedling {~4in.} so about 7" from the soil)
I also have the option of adding 2 T8 shoplights as side/supplemental lighting.
The "seedlings" are currently in white 1 gallon square pots after being sprouted in 16 oz. styrofoam cups (easy to transplant- just cut and remove)
In the flower room I plan to have the following:
(2) Air-cooled 600w Yield Master II's (HPS)
(1-2) 18" Box Fans for Circulation located at the ends of the tent.
(1) 24"x6" Phat Filter exhausted via. 6" Vortex
For Ventilation I'll Be using the following:
(1) 6" Vortex Fan housed in a soundproofed box and preferably vented beneath my house.
(1) 6" Ebay-booster as my intake ducted to the window or an outside vent which will be ducted to vent just below the foliage and split between the two areas using ducting Y's.
I plan on mounting the 2 electronic ballasts to the lid of the fan box, connecting all of the equipment to a surge protector w. a timer so it runs all at once, and is off during the day
I will also be making a rheostat to use as a speed control for the exhaust, and possibly the intake but I will probably leave that part alone as it will be around half the exhaust rate.
Now comes the fun part....
My system would ideally involve having 2 sets of plants in flower at once (approx. 12 plants per 600w lamp) each in its own 3 or 4 gallon square pot with approximately 5-7 weeks between each set (depending on flowering of the final batch and veg. time for new plants).
I would start one set and allow it to flower to approximately 5 weeks, then I would move it to the other side of the tent and replace it with 12 more plants that had already been in veg. for 5-7 weeks (approx. 12-18" or however big I can get them in 5-7 weeks from a cutting.)
I would then take new cuttings to give them approx. 5-7 weeks to veg under the T5 before needing to be moved to the next step and replaced, which should give me my 12-24" goal for height (including FIM and Topping recovery).
The veg. time could run a little longer seeing as how my bagseeds are showing mainly sativa traits, so I will probably be FIMing each new cut a few times in the veg. cycle. to increase my yield per plant.
When the new set is in their 5th week it will be about time to cut down the previous batch and replace them with the new ones from the veg. room.
So...all in all I hoping to have a perpetual harvest of at least a pound of Medicine (hopefully 2oz per plant) per 5-7 week cycle (not including drying or curing) using no CO2 (if I can avoid it) and on a budget even a college kid could make profitable.
So do you guys think I can do it????

Heres one of the middle plant, topped it down to the second set of true leaves 2 days ago and it seems to be recovering pretty well from the stress as its starting to even up its tops.
and some Diesel mini's from my last grow (600w single shot)
I'm down to the littles, I might have to set foot in a club for something besides some wax for the first time in almost 6-months ;P
BTW I NEED HELP ON WHAT ORG. NUTES ARE THE BEST FOR THE $$$$$, I want to stay as organic as posible so i'm open to just about anything.
