You only paid 17k for that car??? damn i gotta meet your neibor, i want those hookups!hey man... don't let that get ya down my friend.
listen to this. I was working in the oil fields for about 2 years. This was back 4 years ago now though. I was 24-25 years old then.. and making killer paychecks. I mean honestly, no bs.. I was pulling in a modest 55k-60k/annually. Which, to me? Shit, I felt rich! I went out and bought a brand new 2005 (new back then) Honda Foreman 4wheeler; Push button 4wd; auto transmission with high/low settings; decked out with bigger tires and wheels.. it was a nice fucking 4-wheeler. Bought it right off the showroom floor! I was so proud of myself.. I went from making $6.50 at a local Honda/Mazda dealership servicing vehicles... straight into making 60k annually. That's a huge freaking change.. it felt like culture shock as if I had gone to another country or something you know?
My second and last year I was working there before I got laid-off along with 8 other people due to "Corporate decisions" to "downsize" in employee numbers in order to save money. wtf? But yeah, my second year.. about 4 months before I got laid-off.. I had just bought my neighbors 2001 BMW M3 E36 Coupe. This thing was decked out to the walls!! Factory installed BMW Stage 2 turbo kit (+205HP to stock HP); factory installed BMW stage 2 racing clutch; full body kit; with an 6speed manual transmission; Tinted windows; factory "Techno Purple" paint; never wrecked; swede interior; cream leather bucket sport seats in front; information system; Aftermarket BMW silver chrome (gun metal color) rims; The front rims were 18x8.5 Rear rims were 19x10. That baby had so much traction.. it was unbelievable.. and I miss that car so much that it breaks my heart to be honest with everyone..
I had all that stuff.. and then WHAM! I get called to my supervisors office.. and I wasn't thinking that it was anything bad at the time. But I had noticed that everyone was kinda acting a little funny. The shop that morning was just a little too quiet if you know what I mean...
Long story short. I had just bought that car.. paid 17k for it too. Worth every fucking penny.. it only had 48k original miles on it. It wound up having 63k on it.. when I had to let it get repossessed.
I know how ya feel buddy.. trust me. I still don't have a job.. to this day. Can't find anything that doesn't require some experience.. at all.
And that's because of the economy.. it just sucks for everyone right now. Really does..
I had PERFECT fucking credit too.. before I got laid-off. I already had a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado crew-cab (4door) pickup that I had bought earlier in the year. So, I had that, the 4wheeler; and the BMW.. luckily for me.. I'm blessed with a father who is involved with politics and works for the state.. and makes a good living. He's making my payments for the truck right now. Otherwise I'd be fucking walking...
yeah my credit was in the 700's. Having those two repo's.. immediately dropped it all the way down to a 640. But, its getting better as the years go by.. which is good. I checked it last month.. and its back up to around 670. Once I get back into the 700's I'll feel alot better..
But, I learned something from all of this. I'm horrible with money!! It's true.. I am.
But my point is.. I've been where you've been in this particular subject. I had all the shit repo'd.. lost a damn good job.. ruined my credit line.. but you know what? It's all materialistic things that can be, eventually if I choose.. replaced later in life.
I took it as a learning lesson really.. don't go around spending my money on expensive toys like that.. unless I have the money to pay for it right then. So, yeah.. cheer up buddy.
Things could be a lot worse..
peace.
My buddys got a 2002 m3 all stock and he paid around 20k for it.
