i used a New round black garbage can.. works good lid stays on to store water
Yea I used new trash cans in the past those worked well. Now use 55gal pickle barrels.

I have a 8bulb 4ft t5ho i can use. I have the ac\de about 3.5ft above the tops, shouldnt be a problem as im not seeing any light stress or burning.

I cut the holes in the lids so that the lip of the net pot rests on top of the ropak container. Lips about 1/2", already had pushed down on them when i first built them and should be able to hold up to the weight.

Some rocks actually did fall in the system in the beginning and got caught in that black in line filter and slowed water flow lol, would have sucked if it got stuck in my water chiller!!!
Yea i did the same lol and though they were good until about the 5th week of flower. I used the same netpots as you have or about the same. You can buy netpots with large lips. They have a lip about double the size of the ones you have. They cost a little bit of change but they are rigid and in my opinion worth it for a diy person. You're trying to ground 1# per plant, those plants are gonna be monsters and heavy lol.

Anyways, if it does happen, hopefully it don't, i supported mine using 2 skewers in each net pot. I drilled 1/4" holes as high as i could go up on the netpot in each quarter so each hole was 180 degrees from the opposite holeand ran the skewers through the net pot horizontally so the skewers rested on top of the lid of the bucket. I used metal skewers instead of wood. Shishkabob skewers you would use to grill with.

They have good prices I'll be ordering from there lol. I wonder if I can just drive there. Their website says they ship from Detroit. I'm about an hour drive from detroit.
i was going to check that myself but think not.. warehouses worth the call tho...
was going to ask hgtsupply to stock a few of them

I'm about 10 minutes north of flint. I don't think there are any htgsupply stores around here.

Heading to my local spot later today to pick up the 13gal ropak totes. There about the same dimensions as the 8gal but a little taller. Around 14$ ea and 4$ per lid. Trying to find some 3" bulkheads for a future build. Going to build new manifolds 3 rows of 4 for next run. Also going to use the square net pots.

Would that require 2 pumps? Or would one still do it. I like the idea of 2 rows, it looks like it has an even draw of water from both rows of pots

3 rows would be fine, you have to make the return manifold equal length between rows, im going to be getting a larger 1400gph pump. When i first built this 4 bucket system. I put red food coloring in the epicenter bucket and the system draws the water evenly through all 4 sites. Really cool. Noticed the ppms and ph keeps more stable also. Really liking these rdwc systems. Exspecially when you can build them your self. Half the fun for me.

$23.58 shipping cost for me but in long run i think my roots well love the more room

So more and more roots are starting to show up:hump: my question is since this system recirculates do i need to push air into each bucket? I would think if i push 1300gph of air into the epicenter and the water is circulating to both buckets via a 660gph pump, would the DO be circulated throughout the entire system?

The oxygen will disolve in the epicenter and reach the plants. I think if you leave the diffuser in each separate bucket you'll get better DO to each plant though. Try running a diffuser in 1 bucket with a plant and 1 in the epicenter. Leave the other plant without a diffuser and see which one plant has better growth. Do they both have roots coming out of the netpots now? If it were me i try 1 plant with a diffuser and 1
Plant without and see which responds better to the change over the course of a week or so.

Yeah i was thinking about doing that at first. I ended up just putting the dual air that was in the epicenter into the bucket that didnt have one. Would rather have as much DO around the roots as possible. Ill get another air stone for the epicenter in the future.

Room is running about 70 to 78f. Water temp is at a steady 64f constant. Ph stays stable as of right now. Upped the nutes to 240ppm Have the water level about an inch up the bottom of the netpots. Air pushed into buckets boils water up and around netpots. Lowerd the light to about 30" and bam plants are loving it.

Things are finally starting to go as planned. They were looking like shit and yellow when i first got them and now there getting there color back :leaf: cant wait till they really put on some growth and fill this space.

Are you plants trying to bud? They look like little bud sites on the top and leaves look like they have trichs on them.

Also have air pump sucking cold air from out of the room instead of from inside grow room. Should push colder air into my bucks and give my chiller a break.

They are clones i took off a mother that was 2 weeks into flower, i took 10 cuts and gave them to my buddy who fucking grew them like shit and these 2 were the only survivors. Nursing them back to health. i later found out people actually do this, its called monster cropping. These clones when rooted and brought back to veg get super bushy and yield huge . Only problem with taking clones from a flowering plant is they take forever to root and they take like 2 weeks on top of that to revert back into veg. These 2 are almost back in there veg stage.

I've never looked into monster cropping, I've heard people talk about it and always thought it was reverting a plant that had been flowered and harvested.

I just read an article on it. How successful were you on the cloning of the plant? Like how manny clones did you take vs how many rooted into new plants. How long did it take also for roots to show?. The article I read said they had a lower success rate of rooted plants and that the rooting time was increased to around 3 weeks.
