Ventilation is a big deal. Make sure there is some sort of exhaust/intake in there, and all your heat issues will be manageable.

You need a large enough fan to move heat from the tops. Plain and simple, you can remove heat spots with a strong enough fan. Unless the temp is extreme.
I'm running 400w HPS less than 6" from my tops with NO burn at 90 degrees........ I have 3 fans inside moving air around......... and inline with booster and carbon scrubber removing my heat. and a utility fan with booster as my intake. I can't even add up the # of CFM air movement i have total. It's excessive. but helps a lot.

its a regular sized fan propped up with weights blowing on high.. its not a pro setup but there is 3 holes cut in the back of the cabinet the shape of squares and i also have a screen thing thats holding the lights as well as a blanket over the top its honestly not that hot inside the cabinet...

On the top leaves I would agree with the others saying it's CFL burn. Recently happened to me,
, but it looks similar. Just make sure you check your CFLs often to adjust them since they have to me so close to the plant.

seems the cool brings out the pink as well as the blue and purple colors. i had one pink lady yesterday, and i know it to be true as i feed them yesterday. well today one of my white ones is pink today. got a couple pics of my main pink lady, but haven't got any of the other yet. something else, my main pink lady has three leaf clusters and they are fat leaves at that, but the new pink lady has five leaf clusters and they are big and fat on the bottom, but long and slender on top.

Looks like light burn to me. but it could be something else. Wait for another opinionated grower to come along and look..... Just my opinion right now.

Combo of all three. Miracle Grow soil N OD, Mg Def, and CFL burn. I took a look at a Def chart, and it sure seems like that's whats going on.Looks like it's getting too much N and not enough Mag to me...just sayin...this is just my opinion...but what do I know, I'm a n00b...

will hold a plant through veg up to flowering no issues really.

If you get a chance, I would be interested in that recipe. I've been reading a ton about ROLS and how to ammend, and cook your soil properly.
