Dark jars for curing

After watching a Sam Adams commercial state that dark brown bottles are better for beer, I was wondering if painting my curing jars black would be beneficial - possibly to the point of curing them in my room on my dresser - just wondering what you guys think.
 
Nah. No matter what, you want them to be in a cool dry place, with no lights. Having them cure in your room next you isn't ideal.
 
Not a pro or anything. But I used to work for a company that allowed me to be inside pharmacys, there is a reason that medicine bottles are amber in color. The light damages the medicine and the amber bottles negates the light. I am not sure how much it blocks the light, but I am sure there must be something to it for them to use amber bottles for as long as they have.
 
I keep my buds in glass jars, in a rubbermaid bin with the lid on. This way the only light in is when I grab a jar out.
 
SPray your jars with black paint and let sit for a week or two for the paint to fully dry and cure. Paint with the lids on. When the paint is just dry to the touch, remove lids and allow to dry. This will take care of the light, but not the "cool".
 
I think if your going to paint your jars and have them in light, you should paint them black, then white. Because black doesnt reflect light, white does therefore it should keep them cooler. I use masonry jars to cure and keep them in a space saver box in my closet.
