I used to tape a dryer sheet over the vent (when there was a vent) when I lived in the barracks. I don't know how it will do with grow smells, but it cut down on the Joe funk and they're cheap.

If you pull off a successful full term harvest, there will be some smell.. so you either try and mask it with sprays and gel's.. or you filter it through carbon.. OR you kind of do both.

They DO make little stand alone home air filters that have carbon for less than 40 bucks.. you could put it in your actual grow and it would 'help'.. maybe then go to a large box store and get an ozium jar (car section) or some type of masking agent.. and of course you could get on the net and order some Ona gel which will 'help' as well.

We've all been and are there.. containing offensive (to others) odors is something best to attack on many fronts using several methods all at once.. At least for small home grows.. It it is only one small plant, you may get up to the last few weeks without ever having to worry about it.. but then one day BAM.. heh.. Good luck~!

You want something to Absorb the smell but yet.. The only thing that does that is a carbon filter which you claim you don't need... If your wanting something to absorb smell... You do need it. If you want to mask it, anything will work but people with a good nose can still smell what's really going on... Dogs can too...

It smelled the most for me when I cut, flowering was not as bad. Cutting down and drying produced really potent smell for 3-4 hours throughout house, through walls ect. I had only a small jar of onagel not a big tub, but even with a big tub I don't think it would have neutralized the smell or prevented it from spreading to other rooms. I def will never cut again or grow again without carbon filter, and I am very lucky the neighbor who is like a 40 yr old woman who lives alone didn't call the cops when she came home, because I'm sure it leaked up there. :/

I was made aware it smelled like skunk 3 hours after I had finished cutting and thought most of the smell was diminishing, I made the mistake of cutting bare handed and had sappy fingers and sugar leaves all over the floor ect, lol was amateur to the max.

i looked at some videos how to make a carbon filter and it's pretty easy, i'll try to make this one- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0cM3yLHk8E today i will make my first growbox, but where do i need to put this carbon filter? after output vent?
I wouldn't make one but its up to you... I would just buy it.. They are like 60 bucks which is pretty cheap to save your ass. U put the carbon filter at th top of your box suck air through it and vent somewhere else so it takes all heat out.
