Went to check out the DG tall boys and wasn't too impressed with the water test. Tried out some seed of life sphere bongs which were really nice, just too small and I wasn't in the mood to buy a flared mouthpiece.
Gave the platinum 88 a water test and I was sold. You can hit this forever, and with barely any water in it. The P88 is the newest thing out by DG. He gave them an internal dewar style baffle. This is basically a double walled vessel creating the inside empty creating less volume giving a smoother hit for both flowers and oils.
The dewar was invented by some chemist names James dewar. I love the system incorporated with the Platinum 88. It defiantly rivals my sovereignty pillar and stem to 12, at half the price tag.
Still pricey at 600, I paid 700 at the LHS.
only downfall, not for me but for most people, you need to keep it clean. The frit will get dirty. Rezblock works like a charm. I have a a screen on the large bowl and I only have to clean it because it will taste bad, rather then getting dirty.
