The micro targeting is a powerful tool. Combine that with the constant trolling on whatever bullshit website that person frequents giving them a false sense of 'people agree with me' making it seem to them like it is ok to say whatever stupid shit they have been programmed to believe for decades/their entire lives.
I had a plumber telling me something, can't remember at the moment, but I chuckled and said no and that they should just get rid of all their electronic communication devices because they are being trolled to believe stupid shit. It went fine after that, we started talking about old buildings and dogs. The radicalization is real, but it is not really any different other than people feel more community with their stupid shit because in the past they got it from some weirdo who smelled bad handing out pamphlets outside strip malls or crazies shouting into a megaphone with billboard signs announcing to the world they were crazy.
