Day 25V, gheto CFL grow, any input/advice wanted :)

Hello everyone! I've been a long time lurker, but I decided to ask the community for advice on this one.

So , let's cut to the chase. I'm doing what I affectionately call a "ghetto grow," because I'm just trying to have a small inexpensive hobby that will maybe yield a few grams. I'm using CFLs, Miracle Grow mixed with organic seed starter and perlite (about a 3:1:1 ratio).

Here is a picture of my plant in natural light:

As you can see many leaves but so awfully small! Here's a pic of it under the lights for a better comparison:

I started adding blood meal because I wanted to fix the (I think) nitrogen deficiency.

Any advice as to why it's so small, though? Here is my set up:

The plant I'm concerned about is the one on the right. In this set up, I have one 85 watt 2700 K above the plant on the left, and one 85 watt 6700 K above the one on the right. In the desk lamps I have 23 W 2700 K, and I usually have one other 23W on each of them, but I moved them for the pic. Thermometer is super high because I unplugged the fan to move things around temporarily, usually doesn't get above 85.

I water when they're pretty light, so every 4-5 days. Recently added bloodmeal in a hope to revive.

Let me know if I forgot anything else... thank you!

Not sure what the issue is. Slow growing is fine. They are growing roots below the surface.

MG is plum full of nutes. Too much. I would not add anything more.

Waiting fills.

Don't add nutes MG is a hot soil, IMO (I'm sure others will disagree) your lights are too close, that is more light than a baby needs and the leaves are bleaching. Try just the 23 watt cfls you mentioned about 3 inches above the tops and have the cfls sideways (horizontal) which is where cfls put out the most light to make that clear your 2 bulbs in the pic are vertical

wait till the plant is 4 to 5 inches tall before putting the big bulbs back

GrowinDad-- you don't think they're too small for how many days they are? I posted this to reddit and a couple people gave me comparison pics. I mean, for the most part, they seem pretty healthy, just small.

Hogbud-- I got your PM and am gonna respond to it now. Thanks so much for your help. :)

I think they are too small/stunted/sick looking but you cant change that now, listen to the advice here and they will pick up.

I'm with those three !! I burnt and bleached a plant with a cfl that was close like you have them. I now keep the bulb at least a foot away. Also you should use water only until you see a deficiency. MG is potent stuff.

How old are they? I didn't see that in your post.

It's so interesting to read this stuff because some opinions say 2 inches away for CFL, and you guys recommend a foot. I will change that and see what works and what doesn't work!

They are 25 days into vegetation - hence, 25V. That's how they define it on reddit so I just used that format here.

small cfl like 24w 2 inches, I have actual 250w cfls that sit 6 inches away. a small cfl at a foot would provide next to no usable light.

Ahh great. I just modified my set up a bit and have 3 23w CFLs about two inches away from the plant vertically, and over top about six inches away I have the 85 watts. Looking pretty good!

I don't worry about small if they seem healthy. That does look small for 25 days depending on what you defined as day one.
