How are my babies lookin'?

We just added more soil to their pots yesterday because I noticed their roots were starting to spread outwards at the bottom of their 'pots.'
They should have enough soil to last until we get larger pots and more soil for them.

My girl mixed some bone meal into the soil so i'm hoping that will help the plants in whatever way it can.

The first two images are of plant a and the last three are of plant b. The lighter is there for size reference.

I am thinking of forcing them into flowering when they get about six inches tall. Just so I can see if they're males or females. Then I'll take them off 12/12 and back to 18/6 to grow more. Has anyone tried this?
A friend told me it was a good way to sex your plants early in the process.

We are going to buy new soil tomorrow. I'm thinking of going with an organic soil mix. What would you guys recommend?

Hey cho0b, lookin good a little further along than mine.

thats exactly what i use (soil, vermic, perl, and all 3 fox farm nutes) best qway to start its all oraganic so there little chance of burn just use GooD water.

So about how much vermic and perl do you put into the soil?

30% perlite, 10% Vermiculite, 60% soil, but no more than that.

would the foxfarm Grow Big (12-7-7) be more suitable than a 20-20-20?

yes it would if used with the other 2 bottles when they instruct (ie flowering or vegging)

and i like to use 40% soil max, itl like soiless soil then and mimics hydro characteristics in the plants development

with shipping it was $91

but if you are taking the time, risk, and energy to grow some dank nugz, you may as well throw in the little bit of extra money to make those budz ever better!!! in my opinion anyways....

I'll 2nd that web site, I've ordered nutes from them. They we're 50% cheaper then my local hydro store. Good people to deal with.
