I have read/heard that you should leave your plant in darkness for 3 days before you harvest. Has anyone heard of this and/or do you use this technique?

Yeah.
Da microbes feed at night. They told me so during my last dmt trip. Since the pot growing scene is now a joke thanks to forums like these, I've opened those ancient communicative pathways
to learn what the modern idiot has forgotten about the natural world: it's cyclic, automatic nature which knows no evil.
If you grow hydro (odoules wannab'weed) it doesn't matter though, you have no natural microbes no natural sugars no natural acids no natural proteins no natural starches no natural flavor no natural high etc etc to worry about.

and furthermore, how would you know the difference ? unless you did a proppa measured test, and even if you did, the power of suggestion might become overwhelming
