Decarbing?

Cool. Since I wouldn't be using the heat on the pint of cream should I just mix it in room temp until it dissolves?
You are going to need to heat the cream to get anything to dissolve in it, like I said before, 130-140°F at least. It takes that warmth to get wax to dissolve in coconut oil, cream may take more time and/or temperature, due to lower fat concentration than oil.

Sorry I misread. So just to clarify your method is decarb in oil at 245 then lower temp to 130-140 for X amount of time to infuse correct?

I would put the wax in a small stainless container in a 245° oil bath. Stir occasionally, by 20-25 minutes it will stop creating small bubbles. When the bubles stop it is done. Cool, and add to warm cream mix well. Look at the fat content in a given amount of cream. I would expect to be able to add 50% of the fat weight in decarbed wax to the cream. It may take more but I hate to waste it.

lot of good info on the stoners cookbook.

NOTE: For less weed taste, soak your buds overnight in water, and dry before grinding. This removes much of the chlorophyll that is responsible for most of the herbal taste.
A similar, less green taste can be had if you are using a crockpot and coconut oil, by taking the hardened oil after extraction, and melting it with another batch of fresh water works well too.

So when you infuse at 130-140f that is just with extracts to dissolve like you said before? or can you infuse oil with herb at 130-140 too and if so for how long?

Albeit an additional step, it seems like it is well worth it to do an extract first if I'm understanding correctly. I see people doing a crockpot with herb for many hours and it just seems like overkill and compromises flavors and properties of whatever fat is being infused...

I use 2 oz of small untrimmed buds per 16oz of coconut oil for cooking. As an experiment, to try to make single 0 capsules, I've used as much as 10oz per 16oz of oil. They weren't strong enough, 1 capsule that is, so I added 11 grams of QWISO wax to bring them up to snuff. I add this only to show how much the coconut oil will hold. Also when I'm working at high concentration, I want as little waste as possible. So after squeezing out all the oil I can with a potato ricer, I add 3 grams of fresh coconut oil per oz of buds and squeeze it out again.
