How can "decarboxylation" not produce any search results at riu? I must be doing something wrong.
I've been 240 for 40, I always do a sniff test for toasty aroma. I'd hate to burn it.tryed it, got the same result, but if it helps 250 is the ideal temp at 30-40 minutes
I decarb in the oven and then infuse in coconut oil for 6 hours on a magnetic stirrer hot plate.Been decarbing this way for years now. Much less stinky, and better final product imo.![]()

Oil bath on the stovetop is the way to go
Wasnt a suggestion. Just that decarb can be done in more than one way. I do hash this way in oil and you can see it happening by the change in the bubbles/boilingI decarb in the oven and then infuse in coconut oil for 6 hours on a magnetic stirrer hot plate.
If I skip the oven I'm pretty sure just the heat from the hot plate doesn't decarb which is basically what you're suggesting?
Good link, thx.
This thread was started after the update when search was brokenTry "decarb"
What temperature and for how long?Wasnt a suggestion. Just that decarb can be done in more than one way. I do hash this way in oil and you can see it happening by the change in the bubbles/boiling
You could read the directions i linked. What temperature and for how long?
I got that. I should have been clearer: how long do you infuse for?You could read the directions i linked.
If you dont care to, it is 250f until the bubbles get small and fewer in number. It is a very short amount of time vs your usual 6hrs. Start to finish it takes me about an hour, give or take. Hash works even better here because you get much more potent oil with almost no green taste. I stopped bothering making oil with sugar leaf and just send it all to bubble bags now for that reason.
