decibel (dB) ratings on inline fans?

Yeah it's a piss take when all these so called silent fans don't show the dB ratings.
It's a red flag for me.

I bought one years ago that was built into a silencer and cost me like £300-£400 .
Was it knackers silent, 50db at 5m..

I can show you some truly quiet fans but only available in UK unless you go direct from China.

But I'll post a link if your interested.
Reason I took the chance and bought them us because they show the dB charts and I think a 6" is 23db.

Best thing i ever bought, because silence is golden where I live. I love my fancy lights because they produce good weight but no point doing that if my neighbours can hear my grow room

No , those are the same as the ones I was talking about, only branded for Panasonic.
You can wire a plug to them.
Use a variac to turn them up and down or one connected to temp speed control

OP, pot growing equipment is all marketing, zero engineering. Don't trust anyone with a chinese accent. Any American with motivation could easily dominate the grow equipment racket. Why doesn't someone do it? Is the only manufacturing/souring experience any American has boil down to rebranding shit from Alibaba?

They are adjustable using a variac or temp controlled version of.

People do do it. Then they grow the business by having them made cheaper in China.

Or the Chinese copy the product and put you out of business.

you could build a small box lined with foam to absorb sound around the physical fan and also purchase a duct muffler that way you dont have to sacrifice the amount of cfm for lower db rating.

That is not their silent line. I have the td-150s that is near silent without any silencers.
Even on high the only sound you hear is the air movement.
