Deciding on lights for coverage

What's good y'all?! Hope everyone's day is great.

I'm looking to start an auto grow in hempy buckets. I'm stuck on choosing a 3x3 or 4x4 tent based on the light selections in my budget. I was wondering if one 600w led light would be enough intensity in either tent. I'm a beginner so all help is welcomed. Bless.

600w equivalent LED should be plenty for that space, assuming you have proper light coverage.

You want to make sure your LEDs span majority of the tent, to cover as much of the space as possible. Where with HID lighting, you use 1 bulb over top of the plants, with LEDs, you would want something that moreso fits the footprint of the space its in. LEDs, depending on how hard you run them, should be no more than 12-18in apart from each other, or from the sides.

So in a 3x3, where you would have a 400-600w HPS sitting dead center, for LED youd want a frame that is roughly 2.5x2.5ft, with COBs spaced pretty evenly across it, to maximize the footprint of the space for best results.

Nice light budget. Good to see ur serious.
Before trying to take in all the stuff its a good idea to know what your own growing environment will be like if you are not in an AC space.
If its cold go HPS and or CMH. CMH with or without LED added if its not to cold or just LED if ur space is warm. (LED requires a warmer environment)

GL in ur choice and happy growing. May the bugs leave u the fk alone.

I'll be setting the tent up in my bedroom and it stays around 72 in my house. My total budget is $500. I'm trying to see how well I can do before I invest all my money into it.
