im gonna start veging in 3 gallon buckets....the 3 gallon and 5 gallon buckets use the same size lid....but you would use less nutes in the begining....if you grow with 4 5gallon buckets that is 20 gallons....well i veg for at least five weeks that is 100 gallons of water.....if i were to change it to 4 3gallon buckets that would only be 12 gallons and after 5 weeks i would only be useing 60 gallons...that would save me 40 gallons worth of nutrients....what you guys think

i was thinking the same thing - I had to go get a larger tub because I needed more room between plants - so I got a 40 gal - idea was good in principle but there is so much water and nutes to deal with. now i'm thinking of getting a tub that is the same size but not as deep. saw one at walmart for 12 bucks - but i'll need 2 for when i change nutes etc... also what i did was make a framework out of pvc and screwed it to the lid so when i go to lift the lid off it's way easier. i'll post some pics later today

Okee dokie then,,,

1 plant per 120 qt Igloo 5 day cooler. 12 air stones per cooler. 1k watt light stationary, 1k watt light on mover. Room temp 78-80 degrees. Water temp 67 on the nut.

I'm getting closer to harvest and all the girls are smelling good and getting sticky.

12x12x12 sealed room with a 3x4 separate room for the babies w/ 600 watt light.

hi guys im newish to the forum done loads ov reading and just setup my dwc 2 5 gallon buckets i have 2 questions if i need to adjust the ph in my resivoiur can i just add ph up or down straight into the resivoiur where my roots are or do i need to use a little water to dilute then add? the seeds im going is ice for nivarna seeds how long should i veg and any tips on growing this strain manythanks

sure have lol its a small shed im doing one dwc 5 gal bucket with a royal purp 2.5' tall vegged for 5 weeks and two 2 2x4 flood tables with 22 plants in them perpetual 4week harvests. my shed is 8x8x7 3 400w hps's in there so far more to come

My buddy has a small DWC grow going on right now with just some bag seed for practice. very cheap set-up: regular plastic pots inside ice cream buckets with a 1" air stones going to each bucket. we're using regular fluros cool and warm. We're waiting on some fem chrystal from nirvana and the HPS light to start our REAL grow. lol. they are about 5 weeks old from seed, been running lights 24/7 and they are happy and loving life since we put them in the buckets. Just switched to flowering today! I'll post pics if i can.

any advice on nutes? thinking advanced nutrients or general hydroponics...

dig a lot of your guys setups, surprised i hadnt seen this thread... but i typically read journals most of the time... dont mind the brown roots, liquid karma and hygrozym make em look like that...

res temps run at 62F-67F in my coolers with no chiller... every now and then i toss a frozen water bottle in it, but not in winter...

I truly love my dutch master nutes. Have done me right for every grow so far. If I was going to pick between AN and GH, I would go GH. Personally I think AN is a rip off.

Yeah man, vert works good for me. Especially since I have such limited space in my 2' x 3' closet. I have 9' to go up though. The odyssey was great smoke, but I only got like 10 grams or something from it. It got shaded from the bigger more dominant Querkle plants it grew next to.

One thing I really like about the tubes is the separate resevior part. I'm not having to mess around with the root zone, just a tub of water. A lot easier in many circumstances.

Sup everyone here's my DWC
Marilyn(Big) and Biggy (Short)y at 7 weeks-pulled BS out 5 days ago cuz it was a male-Marilyn showed at 26 days.
Biggys root are still entangled in Marilyn's, but all seems weel. No root rot or any of the sort. Seems the technically dead roots are still living or are not harming anything. Water is clearish and no residue or algae on the bucket. Was going to buy Hygrozyme which eats dead materials, costs around $22 per 500mL bottle, but havent had the need yet.
Also heard hydrogen peroxide works well with keeping plants healthy.
Anyone try this?
Feed fox farms nutes every week and change the res every 2 weeks.

ive seem your setup before i love it..i dont see where you change/add your water how do you go about doing that in your setup.
